sounds like a possible catastrophe to me. Im sure you need special equipment and i bet buying the chemicals will end up being more expensive than going out and buying the real stuff.

It may be a lil cheaper to make it yourself BUT i dont think you will be able to get the nitromethane in small ammounts to make it feaseable for you there is a forum here all about fuels some even make there own http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/forumid_161/tt.htm

thanks for the info but for what i am doing amount is no problem because makin a large amount is easy to get rid of but thanks for the information

You know, I don't know how dangerious handling these chemicals are, but guessing from your post is that you don't either. So be careful and learn the proper precautions before you go doing something you don't know about.

the real danger is fire and of course the poisoning factor dont drink it or even try to syphon it it will kill in small ammounts methanol burns with a damn near invissible flame nitro isnt as flamable needs to be heated to 98 degrees b-4 it will burn just use common sense and you will be fine
