You using the Eastwood powdercoat kit? My buddy got one and loves it. When I wired the garage up I wanted to wire in an oven, but I started running out of floor space so I passed...
I still can't quite believe that people are drifting RC cars, but I still can't quite believe drifting has become a sport either. [:'(] No offense to you or your project (which is pretty darn sweet) but I keep hoping drifting is a fad that goes away so people can get back to racing properly.

no it's the sears kit, but it's the exact same gun just in different color. thanks hopefully it will al turn out nice and the weight of the aluminum won't be an issue drifting. I think the power of that infinity 18 will over come that
don't take this the wrong way, but you have obviously never seen a live drift race, there's much more skill involved in drifting than regular nascar any one can drive a car around an oval for 500 miles or race in a straight line for a 3 second 1/4 mile

Have you ever been 200 mph or close to it? I have, and I am here to tell you not just anyone can drive a car for that long at those speeds. I like drifting also and have done it full scale. Skill involved in both styles of racing. I would rather hit the wall drifting than racing at 200 mph.

ya as a mtter of fact I have driven close to 200 mph. you can go to the texas motor speed way take a class and drive on the track. i've also had a 69 gto that i've driven close to 200. Never drifted full scale before though, would love to try it and I would also rather hit the wall drifting I believe. seen live driftig races and have to admit I found it much more exciting than nascar or drag racing although I still love to watch them live. at anyrate i'm glad to see this thread brings up some interesting conversation.

I don't doubt there's skill involved in drifting, but there's also skill involved in balancing a ball on your nose. You don't see THAT on ESPN.
And no, I've never been to a drift event, nor have I been to a Cup event or a pro rally. At least one of those is on my "to do" list.
Edit - I enjoy many forms of motorsport, but I personally feel that drifting belongs in the same category as car stereo SPL competition.

Stock car racing was started by a bunch of bootleggers looking for a place to show off their fast cars without getting arrested for it. Every sport is filled with show offs.

To be honest, I've maybe driven a car/truck to count...maybe 10 times and I'm 21..LOL.. I got my G1, But I hate driving cars for some reason..I got my M2.. And the only thing that stops Me from driving My bike is the snow.. But I got a sled for that
And doing 180mph on a motorcycle is WAY MORE intense then drifting and nascar combined LOL

These are my personal views on the subject, and I'm not trying to tell anyone they're wrong or right, and this is more than I usually say on the subject so I'm sorry for cluttering up a cool "build up" thread.

actually a car with the right gearing and the pontiac big block, any of them from the 350 to the 455 with only a few high performance parts wouldn't have much trouble getting to 200 mph, especially if it has the muncie 4 speed rockcrusher tranny.
