Default Thinking about getting a new car/truck/ST

Not exactly sure if this is the right place to post this, but I am possibly in the market for a new nitro r/c car or truck or even a ST. I've previously had a Traxxas 4-tec pro .15 on-road and the engine was never broken in properly and was overall sluggish. Parts kept breaking due to the lack of smooth areas I had to run it too. Note that this was a few years ago and I have been out of the hobby. I'm thinking of getting maybe a Stadium Truck such as the HPI Firestorm. I looked at buggies but they looked quite powerful and not exactly for me so to speak. Currently I'm not sure what I want to get. Can anyone quide me?

I wont be back for 7 hours or so. Thanks.

First of all, where will you be driving primarily(if offroad, please specify terrain)?

I would be driving a mix of onroad (mainly down my street which is rather rough) and offroad on grass

The Firestorm is a good Stadium Truck. If you're going to be bashing in grass and stuff, I would recommend a Monster Truck like the HPI Savage.
The Firestorm does pretty good in short grass, but overall Monster Trucks are better bashers.

I had an HPI Nitro Rush, and it was a pretty solid stadium truck. if my experiance with that truck is any indicator, the Firestorm is a great basher. out of your choices, that's what i'd pick.

I'm leaning more towards the Firestorm due to price also. Being in NZ means that importing from Towerhobbies has a $100USD shipping cost.

Also, what are the required accessories these days?

I have a glow starter + charger, filters, Hobbico oil, but that's about it

EZ refill fuel bottle
6v Hump Pack (do you need it for the firestorm? Saw it needed 4 batteries for receiver)
A bunch of glow plugs

etc.

Can I reccomend a poor mans truck? Cen MT or now it is known as the spec 3.0 or the nx 3.0. Tower sells both of them and they are around the same price.

I recommend this truck from personal experience. I have over 20 nitros, the LST, savage, Mgt, 1/8 scale buggies and truggies.

I loved this truck because it was cheap, very fast, and could deal with grass, some off roading and was a real pavement burner. I really beat this truck to, and it took all of it. To date and i bought it 3 years ago, I bent a shock and a shock tower.

Now I am not knocking the firestorm, I used to own a HPI rush, and it was also a great truck, but it did not deal with the grass very, but over all a great truck though and quite durable.

Good luck

I might bump this up a bit by saying that I'd be mainly bashing, if that's any help.

I still reccomend the cen MT 3.0 rtr its 4 wheel drive and has a 2 spd, and nice radio, I think its about 289.00 or 299.00 from tower, its only 50.00 more then the hpi nitro firestorm, and can take on a lot rougher terraign.

After more though I think I'll get a Savage X 4.6. But I'll need to save for a while longer. I might just get a few spare parts such as A arms etc along with a few accessories.
