Default 1/8 buggy with very unique body. MUST SEE

As you can see it isn't complete and came with a wing that isnt yet installed, but you get the idea. I have never seen anything like it, its a Ford Focus rally body with a Mugen MBX-XR Works buggy underneath! To say it looks cooler than the buggy body is a slight understatement. And fast with the tarmac tires, I cant wait to do some drag racing. I'll post some good clear pictures when I finish it. To be honest I dont know much about the body except it came from Holland, and that its 1/8 scale. The rear wing on the buggy is a PERFECT rear mount, and the front was just as easy. Expect a one of a kind finished product, this thing is really big, way bigger than with the buggy body.

Very cool, What about the body contacting the tires? Has the suspension been limited to prevent this?

I would check out kyosho's landmaxx bodies. I think they make a rally and truck body for the landmaxx, which I believe was built on the MP 6 chassis. Stan

heres some pictures with stickers. I will mount the body a little higher when I am finished. but buggys have very little ground clearance anyways so it wont rub. Also notice the tarmac tires.....I am only going to run this body on the pavement.

Default 1/8 buggy with very unique body. MUST SEE

heres some pics with a 1/8 buggy wing. I mounted it using nothing but the normal wing mount kit for my mugen. All thats left now is some really good body mounts. I am going to use the rear wing standoffs to mount the rear body mount to, it should stiffen the wing and the body nicely. It looks like I will have to get fancy for the front mount.

Heres the final mounting. I drove the car today and it drives like.....it did with the buggy body! It drives like a competition level 1/8th buggy does!

Now just looking for someone wanting to race from 0-40MPH, who thinks theres a crappy little HPI .15 underneath that body.

No, you wouldnt know it was a different body at all from the buggy body handling wise..... Looks great except when it rolls where as the buggy body wouldnt touch or get damaged at all...this one gets wasted. I am just going to keep this one for on-road and smooth dirt type terrain, with the tarmac tires.

I cant believe this body fits the same car as the buggy body and doesnt look totally stupid, due to the HUGE size difference.

Its probably the closest thing you can get to a 1/8 rally car...It is AWD, has TORSEN differentials, weighs 8 pounds and makes 2.4 HP...Thats 3.33 pounds per 1HP!!!!! Probably better power to weight ratio than a REAL rally car!

OK I definitely want one.... That is the coolest thing I've seen, I bet it looks like a small 1/5 scale just faster.

Has anyone run an 1/8 scale buggy with on road tires? How does it handle?

Curious: Buggies are usually slower than onroad cars. Why would you convert one instead of buying an onroad car?

I have an OFNA buggy but the 9.5 and the PBS the onroad kits mentioned before won't fit on them because they were made ofr racing. That is what tech support told me anyway. I wanted one of those kits. They primarly fit the kits that can take the 2 spd tranny.

I love racing buggies. I prefer it more than the onroad cars. Onroad cars would be more exciting if you added jumps and stuff.

Someone else mentioned about the OFNA conversion kits. I understood you only added the body.

Which looks very nice. I have a Hyper 7 PBS - Love running it off road.

I think it would be cool to try and run a car body on a buggy on an off road track sometime. It would probly destroy the body beofre the end of day but it would be fun.
