I have been racing about as long as you have. I would prefer the B4 buggy over the T4 since you have exp
under your belt. I plan on trying the 2wd buggy class eventually as well.

1/5 scale are not electric but Gas. Setups are expensive but gas is cheaper then nitro.

I would sell the RC18B and get a RC18R with whatever extra parts you will need for racing. You can also invest in some tools if you don't already have some.

Why would you sell the B to get the R? The only differences are the shocks, arms and tires. Just change them over then you can have both...

Also, a nice 4wd buggy would be a great choice or a 1/8 brushless electric, maybe a bit more than your budget if you want to use 3S lipos but you can run them on 2 x 2S easily.

The B44 is a very nice buggy but I don't like saddle packs. I know they distribute weight better but they are a pain unless you're going to race then go for it.

My personal choice would be a 1/8 brushless, tons of fun and lots of power.

YES! I gotta get rid of my savage just so I can get the electronics. And even then I might not have batteries.

No way, $1500 bucks? That's ridiculous. That's only if you're starting from scratch, need a lipo charger and 2 high end 3S batteries. You already have 2S batteries (said you're getting a second, make sure it's exactly the same as the first), so your batteries are covered.

You can get an RC8e or RC8Te for $370, add a brushless system for $300 and you're at $670. Sure that's $70 over your budget but worth it. Or hot bodies has a Ve8 for $300 and then you're right at $600.

If you look at the names or even look them up on amainhobbies or towerhobbies you'll see that the "e" in the name stands for electric. No conversion necessary. All you need is like for any 1/10 electric kit, motor/esc, servo and batteries.

Go off on a related tangent and buy yourself a lathe or milling machine. That way you can make your own custom parts and learn a useful skill at the same time.

How about a couple of Losi Micro Desert Trucks with lipos and shock upgrades? You can run them inside when it's cold or rainy.

Thats the best idea yet. What would it cost to do that?
