5 port sleeve on a 3 port crankcase?
Hello, i have an sts .12 d3r engine. the piston and liner needs to be replaced so im planning to upgrade the the d5r liner. i did my share of research and the crankcase for both d3r and d5r are teh same part number. so willthe 5 port sleeve and piston set work on my originally 3 port crankcase. im pretty sure its okay, but i just wanna see what you guys think about it.
plus on a .12 5 port sleeve, where are the 2 extra ports usually located at, i've see under the exhaust, side of boost ports, etc \
lastly what is the benefit for having a5 port, more torque? more rpm? better mixture?
Thank you very much, and merry christmas.

No idea on what will fit but 5 ports generally produce more topend while 3 ports generally produce more bottom end.
