Suggestions on transporting a nitro rc.
Hey everyone, I have a quick question.
In about a week and a half I will be flying via Southwest to Daytona Beach to go to the Daytona 500 and visit some relitives, (I do not like nascar that much but its Florida!!) and I need some suggestions on ways I can get my nitro truck to my relitives house and back. I want to take it on the plane but I read Southwest's regulations and they do not permit an internal combustion engine of any sort, so I am pretty much screwed there... I could ship it for $20-30 both ways but its sort of a hastle. Is there any way around this?? Eddie I am hoping you know some stuff since you have to travel a little to Ehobby and such.
Thanks alot guys for any help you can offer.

i only know about taking the fuel tanks out, its best to have a new tank in the bag not opened then they cant say anything, i am not sure about southwest, i would ask if you remove the fuel tank and lines if its ok to transport. Clean the engine of fuel also.

I would contact the Airline you are Flying and see what their requirements are.
You Should be able to Check the car.....But (like Eddie says) no fuel residue is allowed.
There might also be a problem with the receiver Battery.....

Like eddie said. Take the fuel tank out have one in a sealed bag (NEW) also take the FUEL lines off and have some extra to put on when u get to where ur going. Also make sure the truck is CLEANED!!! dont want any sign of Nitro.
Also like rich said TAKE the battery's out of the Radio and rec pack.

when Rod came to visit me, he brought a few of his nitro's and there was no problem, he just removed the tanks and the fuel tube.

Ok thanks, but I am just worried I will get there and they will make me leave it, I mean im a wheelchair and i have even gotten patted down, had my wheelchair scanned and had to take my shoes off. Im just saying what if we went all the way there for basically nothing.
Also did they notice the engine and did you have to store the fuel tank seperately?
On southwest regulations it says specifically no combustion engines.

you can always ups or fedex the engine to where ever ur going. will be a lot cheaper then shipping the full truck.
