Default From A to B on the street, whats the fastest out of the box?

Do i need to lean towards a stadium?
Or can I pull off an on-road car?
Streets here are just normal suburb pavement.
Your thoughts?
Anything go over 70 in actual mph?

on-road would be faster than a Stadium Truck
ST's have the habit of flipping when going over 50
Only thing is if you go on-road I would ope your normal suburban paved streets are better than my inner city streets that are riddled with potholes or an onroad car won't last long

There are also drag racer's that are built solely to go insanely fast.

Can't really recommend any speeders seeing I have no real experience with them. Will say a 1/10th brushless racecar with a 5.5t motor or something would probably blow a nitro one away

Supposedly CENs car with the 5.0 engine can do 90 MPH out of the box.

I've had a brushless truggy on 6S. It was a 8ight-T-E w/CC Monster
It was set up for the track, and had killer low end, but was really only doing 45mph or so on the top, so i didnt think in a million years it would ever break 60. Just not set up for it. Never heard of a truggy gettin up there close to that any way

Why do you want a vehicle that does 70 mph especially an off road vehicle.

that kind of speed in an off road vehicle is almost usless not to mention if you happen so flinch and lose control of it you would need a broom to pick it all up.

schumacher has a out of the box 80+MPH, supposed to be fastest RTR out there! Schumacher also holds the current guiness book of Rc record over 160MPH!

Exactly, I never said I wanted an off roader. In fact I'de like to have an on-road car , as I've never had one. I just wanted to bring up the fact that the roads I'll be using it on some of the time will be just regular ole concrete roads, not all nice flat black top parking lots, and possibly some or none at the track.
Someone at my LHS told me stadium truck might be the way to go with the road conditions i might be on most of the time,,,,
He made it sound like high speeds with an on road car might be dragging the bottom "and such" too much to really get high speed.
Im sure part of the reaon he is trying to get me to lean toward a jato is because they sell a bunch of traxxas there, nothing wrong with them, but i've seen better lmost everywhere. That can be a double edged sword.... better access to parts, but loosing some craftmanship and design...
Money is not my biggest concern.
I was thinking $200-$500 range!
thanks guys
What do we think?
Oh and did enyone look at that Wolf Hobbies Edam Exer yet?

Yea, I've seen that johnson, but how can we know if it really does that tho.... the guy at my LHS told me to take everything Schoumacher says and subtract 20mph...
That seems a little extreme, but still i havent seen any evidence of it or the CEN's 90mph claim proven at all...

I would probably go with the Nitro 4-Tec... it's supposed to hit 70+ mph out of the box.

You can make a truggy or a flux or  a revo all do over 70 MPH with the right LIPO batteries and spur/pinion..
My assosiated is so powerful it does wheelies from one end of the street to the other, with the centre diffs original oil ,and will get to 70 mph in seconds.
The truggy is the only one that wont throw or detonate tyres at those speeds though .....

I have a Jato with an OS .21TM with a few other mods hitting between 70 - 72mph. IMO the craftmanship is great. Have never had a major issue or a major part break. If you want to go faster then the Schumacher is the way to go.

here is my DM-1...the car has radar a legitimate 68 MPH...its absolutely ballistic and undriveable without a D-Box.......I have run this car against quite a few machines and so far nothing has touched it....well of course unless i spin out ( which is more often then not ) ... All I will say is 70 real radared MPH is balls out fast with any RC and the control is nearly non existent ......

And so far my fastest Truggy is 58 MPH with track gearing...14th bell and stock spur on a Losi 8T

here is a 50 MPH .21

Right now i'm leaning toward a jado with a v-spec, and that EDAM EXER on wolf hobbies.
They might be just as fast
Jado would have much better parts available
But the 1/8th on road beast would be pretty stinkin cool
dont see too many of those
your thoughts?

I hope I dont offend anyone...but to me a Jato is a novelty....i have driven a few of them and they got tiring very quickly... the handling next to a road car is horrible when on the concrete, and their handling next to a Truggy/buggy on dirt is horrible.... They are fast, but its very rare they can make a clean full power pass, the suspension design is not really that good for the speeds its capable of.... A V-Spec Jato would be extremely fast in theory, but on the ground I don't see it being stable enough to actually do anything with it..... I would take a 1/10th road car converted to Big Block any day over a Jato.....The Jato sucks offroad and they suck onroad........However I am sure with enough time and money the Jato could be made into something at least drivable, but they will never compete with a onroad on the concrete or a Buggy/Truggy in the dirt.....

Thanks for being frank.
Thats what i need.
I guess my LHS guy suggested the jato because he thought it would be good for straight line speed on the street, being that its got more suspension travel for the uneven surface.
He made it sound like an on road car would be grounding out too much on the street.
I dont really know, because ive never had a roadster, just off road stuff. I've got plenty other cars for off road., so off road performance isnt an issue.
so 1/10th scale on rod converted to BB huh?
the Schoumacher makes the 10th with a big block right?
I wish I knew the actual speeds of some of those.... CEN CTR 5.0, Schoumacher models, etc...

check out this thread. there are lots of people in there with some real know how who can help you find what is right for you.

I have just completed building an RC10GT with a big block and I have clocked it at 62.5 MPH and I had limited space on uneven pavement I know with the right surface and space I will get it well into the 70's MPH

l cant believe lm gunna agree with supertib !
Bet you cant believe it too tibster.
Jato is an overrated machine.
l would go Truggy or buggy for real on road power and control.
