nihm battries
Hello all, I have like 3 nihm battries that have been sitting around for like over a year.....should they still be good??
|
RE: nihm battries
sure. just charge them up real slow the first time.
and its nimh ;) |
RE: nihm battries
may I have an example of REAL slow please? I have one of those pirana peak chargers if that makes a diffrence
|
RE: nihm battries
try .1-.2a charge. faster will make them false peak.
|
RE: nihm battries
well thankyou, I will try that

RE: nihm battries
You may have to run a few cycles before they're back in top form since they've been sitting, but don't worry about it too much ;)

RE: nihm battries
Check the voltage with a volt-meter before charging. If it's REALLY low(like less than 0.5V per cell), damage is probably done. I would give them a nice slow .1A trickle charge for a while and see if they come back.

RE: nihm battries
I just got back into things and I had an old Trinity 2000 battery that hadn't been touched for over 10 years. A few cycles and it's as good as new. Funny to think I paid about $100 for a 2000 when I bought it.
