Sub-C Single Cell Question

I have a couple Integy 4100 NIMH 6-cell 7.2V packs that started to drop. I found one Single Cell in each pack that reversed polarity. I was able to jump start one of the by hitting it with two seconds off a 12V battery and it is holding at 1.27v nicely. The other one I hit a few times and it goes up to about .90v or so but then drops the charge right away. My question is that I am trying to find one Single Cell 4100 NIMH to replace this dead cell but can't seem to find anyone who cells them anywhere. Does anyone know where I can pick one of these up or do you think someone around here might have one that i could purchase? I have tried the usual sources like All-Battery, Battery Junction, etc. but no luck.

Thanks in forward for your help....

Erik

RE: Sub-C Single Cell Question

ebay theres a few guys that sell em for a few bucks each
thing is I dunno if its a good idea seeing they won't be impedance matched to the others

RE: Sub-C Single Cell Question

I would love to go Lipo but it is for my sons E-Maxx 3906 which is basically stock electronics except servo. It is running like a top and have never had issues outside of the batteries. The only issue with going Lipo is that the investment isn't just batteries and a servo swap. I would have to change out to brushless, all gears and drivetrain, etc. I can only imagine the amount of outlay of cash verse rewards. Unless someone knows a simple way to switch it to Lipo without swaping out everything, let me know. It certainly would be nice to get rid of the NIMH's.

um, if im not mistaken, as long as you run a 2s and a lipo alarm your good to go. chargers on hobby partz are cheap, good, and some even charge NIMH for $30

RE: Sub-C Single Cell Question

Low Voltage Alarms are $4 on ebay shipped (I just got 2 last week ;))
You plug those in to the balance port on the lipo and it will emit a loud alarm when any of the cells hits 3.4V
I run 2S lipos on a few brushed systems using those.
