beginner buggy?

I wanted to get started in nitro cars and i've had my eye on the buggys, especially the kyosho inferno tr-15. Is this a good beginner buggy?

Do you want an 1/8 or 1/10 scale buggy???

I just bought a rtr Ofna Hyper 7 PBS off ebay!!! i wanted the speed of a .21 over a .15. it costs more but it is better, how much do you want to spend??

If this is your first buggy and you are new to the RC world, you might want to consider something quite durable, I think the kyosho inferno and Hyper are more of the race type buggies. The LX and MBX by Ofna are a little more on the beginner to intermediate class. Basically if you want to go and bash it Ofna's MBX class is quite durable and has a .25 big block "lots' of power"
the Kyosho is more on the higher scale with the Hyper's etc.

Good luck !

I wasn't looking to spend any more than 400. I have been looking for kits so i an have the satasfaction of building it myself, I shoulve said that before and preferably one that has 4wd.

if your trying to stay under $400, you might wanna try getting a used big name brand. check your local hobby shop to see if anyone is selling their buggy at the hobby shop.

the ones "i think" are in that price range new are gonna be the
xtm terminator
hot bodies lightning
duratrax axis

of those three buggies, id choose the xtm, but id rather have a used kyosho than an nib xtm.

you can get a nib gs storm for $450 on ebay and it comes with a very nice 3 channel fm radio.:) :)

If I were to get a used car wouldn't it be built already? But thanks for those three suggestions.

Uh... A week ago I would have told you to get an OFNA Ultra LX Pro. But today, I say stay away from this thing. I have had nothing but problems from mine. I even upgraded the suspension. Dont get me wrong I dont think this is a racer but it should at least run. Nope not this one. And OFNA seems to have lost their ability to return calls or emails. Dadgum... :o

Packfan: I checked out the terminator and it's awesome. I might get one of those even though it's an rtr.

The new X-Termiantor Deluxe is looking good, but if you're looking for a kit for no more than $450- good luck since most "Pro" kits are over $500-600. But check on ebay occasionally and you might come across one, I suggest the MBX5 but that's an average pricetag of $520 on ebay for an onuopened, unassembled kit and that leaves you close to $200 more for a radio & motor.

like i said id rather have a used kyosho than any of the three i listed, but its your money and your buggy.

I have a thing for not getting anything that has been used. I like getting it brand new.

mastermind, if you like getting everything brand new... your going to be dropping some crazy cash on rc. But have you been in rc long? If youve mastered electric then its time to move on but if you havent get a electric buggy for a while... the tr-15 is a 1/10th scale buggy which are rare in buggy racing because i dont even think they have a class for 1/10 scalle gas buggies. For bashing that car looks great..... but remember no races with it.
