Lets See your workshop

RE: Lets See your workshop
Nice shop!! I especially like the stool that looks like a motorcycle saddle. My workspace consists of a folding table in a corner of the basement with a car stand and a few hand tools/spare parts for now. Just moved into a new house and haven't had time to get my garage in order yet, but here's to hoping!

RE: Lets See your workshop
workshop? I grab some tools and work on the floor:D

RE: Lets See your workshop
Dear God man, that's a massive workshop. Mine is basically an unfinished closet.
Where are all your RCs though? I only see one. :) |
RE: Lets See your workshop
I was thinking the same thing?

RE: Lets See your workshop
I use my shop for working on engines....rarely will you ever see any of my cars in the shop unless I happen to be working on them...... I do also have an upstairs in my shop, so I store some of them up there, some of them are in the metal cabinets, others are at my business partners, or tucked away out of camera sight.......... The last thing I want is all my cars scattered all over my workshop.....so unless I am specifically working on a car it will be put away , out of my workspace......

Great idea for a thread. I am about to create a vid for my channel going over my "workshop"/
With that...we are currently designing our new house getting built.. While the wife wants big kitchen, open floor plan, jack and jill bathrooms, pool, etc....I only care about ONE thing...and that is my work shop in the garage. I don't want to throw numbers, but let's say I am sinking a little extra for my own little space in our new garage. For now, below is what I have. I've not put much into it since we are moving....but it works for now. ;-) NOTE: I took this picture just as soon as I read this post. It is usually much more clean and organized, but this is it's "typical state". I think after only four months in to "the hobby", I've already compiled quite a bit. I can't effing WAIT to move into our new house. A year from now I will post my new work shop, andI assureyou it will beSICK. ;-) |
RE: Lets See your workshop
My whole house is a workshop ATM, I've got 15 Rc, floating around the house, along with heaps of boxes of bits... Really need to have a clean out of my boxes

RE: Lets See your workshop
aaaaaaaahhhh! i wish i had a workshop like that with a bunch of tools, i just busted my force .28 (but it was already boogered up) I tried removing the sleeve. i tried tapping, putting a zip tie in it to push the sleeve up, putting a lollipop stick through, heating it, talking nice to it, nothing, then i tapped it with a small plastic screwdriver while it was heated while i was turning the crank and it cracked the case.. aahhhh. I'm not paying $70 for a tool that i will use once on an engine that is only worth $100 new.

I'm not paying $70 for a tool that i will use once on an engine that is only worth $100 new. Had the same problem once, but I used a more simple solution..... On a OS 0.12 I found a dynabolt that was very close to the sleeve bore, chucked it in the freezer, then baked the crank case. Pulled the crank case out with a teatowl, and quickly put the dynabolt into the sleeve and tensioned it up... Would u belvedere the sleeve pulled out with no resistance.... Worked a treat... Cheapest tool ever |
RE: Lets See your workshop

RE: Lets See your workshop
Nice, brenthampton79. Do you and supertib actually have garages to park cars in as well, or do you shove the cars outside and turn the garage into a permanent shop?
|
RE: Lets See your workshop
Oh man, I wish to have a workshop.
Only a small balcony for me... |
RE: Lets See your workshop
Does anyone have CAD that they can use and use accurate dimensions? I'm looking for a design for a small work bench. Something I can put my trucks on to work on them. My idea is a bench with the dimensions of 4'-0" long, 2'-6" deep, by 3'-6"-4'-0" high to the table top. Im thinking about a 1" tall lip around the outside top of the table top to prevent things from rolling off. And a 6" high "backstop". I'd also like to throw 2 or 3 drawers in as well. not too big of drawers. But i was thinking 4"x4"'s for legs?

RE: Lets See your workshop

My center benches are on locking casters, so I can move them out of the way to pull 2 cars in if needed...... I also have a parking pad right behind the garage for 2 cars...... |
