Is it supposed to go in reverse?

Hello I am brand new to R/C and have just purchased a team losi xxx-s. It came with a jr racing xr2 controller. I pulled it fresh out of the box and slapped brand new fully charged batteries in both the controller and car. The car drives great except for one thing, it won't go in reverse. The first time I hit reverse it kinda sputtered like it wanted to go. I kept trying it and every once in awhile it will take off in reverse but not every time. Now it won't go in reverse at all. Can anyone out there give me some insight as to what the problem might be? Is it just an adjustment on the controller? Any help would be appriciated, thanks.

Reverse

Not sure if you are running Nitro or electric but If Nitro then NO there is no reverse.
Electric would depend on the type of speed control you are running.

Actualy the t-maxxes have a reverse. And some kyoshos. It is just wheels with pins and holes. The clutch on the engine prevents "crunching".
