TL-01 Help/Suggestions

Hey Ive just recently pulled out my TL-01 after being in a box for 3 yrs it still goes just wondering if a 7.4V 5000mAh 30C Li-po will fit if so what esc and motor is recommended and will the receiver need to be upgraded

Not easy to tell with the LiPo-pack, but i know you need a stick pack for this car. So the thing you need to do is to look for a stick pack, and take it from there. You can use the same receiver, just hook up the new esc with it and floor it :)

Yeah Racing make a bettery that will fit, but its expensive..

or u could just do what most people have done, square up the battery hole

I came to think of saddle pack here, what about chopping off the "bridge" that surrounds the battery and make some custom mounts on each side? Like a plate bolted to the chassi to place them on?

You actually wouldn't have to do any cutting to remove those extensions that hold the "L" shaped holders. They are screwed to the main chassis from the inside(you don't need to open up the chassis if you use a long screwdriver). That would leave two neat pre-drilled holes for attaching the custom battery mounts you speak of.
