Hi All, i have a Duratrax Overdrive ST, with a Velocity .17. When i first got it, it ran GREAT!! I broke it in according to the instructions, then started leaning it out. Then i started hitting some jumps, and now the engine never starts, and/or never stay's running, WHAT GIVES? I would really like some info on this, it used to start on the first pull, now it takes forever, if it starts at all! Whats really wierd is that my friends Overdrive ST w/ velocity .17 is now doing the same things!! Any ideas? Thanks,

Did your friends car start doing the same carzy stuff after taking jumps?

I dont know this engine or car but from the sound of what you are saying something got loose. Most probably the carb.
Also, did you try with a new glow plug.
I know it may sound stupid (and probably have already don so) but is your glow plug heater charged.
Last thing that passes though my ind is the fuel. How long do you have it and did by any chance leave it on storage no closed tight enough.

make sure glo start is charged, leave it in the engine (dont take it off) for 30 or so seconds

if the car isn't starting, try having a friend keep full throttle but make sure he takes off full throttle the moment the car starts

check your fuel line for air bubbles

try pulling the starter, does it feel very hard to pull? the engine may be flooded. take off the glow plug and tilt the car so the fuel can come out...reprime the engine one pull at a time

of course im assuming the glow plug is actually good and not dead

Hey guys, the glow plug ignitor is charged, and i've tried 4 different ones. The glow plug is good, i replaced it to see if that helped, not really. My friends did start after jumps, so you're probably right drf. The fuel is relatively new, a week old, been opened about half a week. I shook it before driving to mix it. Thanks for the advice, i'll go look into it all!

Alright guys, i went out to test all the stuff you suggested, and it didn't help at all, i'm at a loss! Theres no way i'm buying a new engine after only 1.5 weeks of use, AHH! I can't afford this hobby too, rc helicopters are getting in the way!;) ANyway, any other suggestions? Thanks a bunch,

return it to dealer - it should be warrantied

Well, i might just have to do that, but man, that would suck!![:@] Maybe i'll have to forget cars and get a bigger heli, awww man...i hate decisions! Thanks again for all the help guys,
