i need help
I have no idea what R/C car to get. I either want a buggy or a rally, but I cant spend more than 350$
I need it to be rtr out of the box or close to it. I rilly need help I just cant decide!!! |
RE: i need help
Rally... = .15 engine... usually doesn't have that great of a ground clearance.. but it's fun in light dirt and gravel... can fit touring car bodies on it.. if you got a touring car most are 1/10th size..
Buggy = .15 -.21 engine... Has decent ground clearance... and you can do jumps with them.. and you can run them in the light dirt and gravel and maybe a little more bumpy.. Usually 1/8th though.. however there is 1/10th ones out Hope that helps... <~ I like stadiums.. has the ground clearance.. and sorta like a rally+Buggy+monster truck.. |

RE: i need help
if you want an st under 350 then get this http://www.rcmodels.com/rc-los-a0880.html , if you want a buggy get this http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXAXV1&P=0 , and you don't want a rally car, not enough ground clearence to do anything offroad besdies packed dirt which can get boring. i would tell you to get a rc10gt but mine is pissing me off right now.

RE: i need help
I was at my LHS the other day and seen a duratraxx buggy(2WD) RTR. I'm not sure on price, but I know it was definately under $350. They usually give a good bang for your buck. Might be something to check out. I wish I had more info. for you.

RE: i need help
is there a big difference between the Ofna 1/8 Ultra LX Pro RTR w/25 http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXDHW4&P=0
and the Ofna 1/8 Ultra MBX Pro RTR http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXAXV1&P=0 ??? That extra 50 dollars can get me a starter pack. Is the speed about the same on these cars. And is the Ultra LX Pro junk? |
RE: i need help
I have the Ofna LX Pro. I don't race much, but I like my LX pro very much. I always get good comments about it when I drive it. On the straight aways its ok. I have been able to hold my own, but you won't be passing anybody that has a descent and well kept .21 engine. However on the jumps and getting bottom end, its great. I have only broken a clutch shoe, and bent a rear axle. I have done plenty of cartwheels learning this car (first one). Now I can drive pretty well. The only thing I recommend doing is changing out the weak steering servo, get some wing washers to stiffen up the rear wing, and use some softer springs. People always tell me to change out the diff oil. But I haven't. Just lazy I guess. Car seems to drive just fine with the diff oil that has been put in it.
But hey for $299, this is quite a car. I'll list my mods Kyosho Gunmetal mag rims Kyosho Crime Fighter tires Kyosho Super soft red springs Hitec HS-645mg servo (Hi-torq) Odonnel 20% JR XS3 radio (used with another car) |
RE: i need help
how much did all those mods cost you?
