ORIGINAL: evilchim Hello all, I'm new to the rc world. I bought a used slayer 4x4. I had to purchase new engine and it won't start, any suggestions? Also, what tires come stock? The previous owner made it dual in rear with real small tires. Stock ones are 2.2/3.0 short course wheels with 14mm hexes. |

Well, with a new engine, if it won't fire, it's either a glow plug/igniter issue, or a fuel issue. Pull the plug and stick it in your igniter, make sure it glows bright orange. If it does, then you need to make sure you've got fuel but are not flooding.
To prime for starting, just crack open the slide on the carb (with air filter off so you can see), pull the tube off the exhaust pipe, and blow into it gently until you see a couple drips come out and run down the venturi. If it still won't pop, then you may be flooding. If the plug is dripping with nitro after you've yanked the rip cord a few times (and you know the plug and igniter are good), then you need to back off the idle screw and/or run in the low speed mixture screw. |
