Have you done anything to help support this great hobby?

Hey guys, just wondering what awesome things you have don't for this hobby.... It can be anything, from helping some random guy to marshaling at ur local track. Let's hear what you've got....

My biggest claim is I've started a Facebook for local people to be buying, selling and trading all thing rc related and It's all completely free... Over 600 members and growing each day...

Ive got a buddy that's doing alright. He has 6 traxxas slashes that every Friday night he hires out a school gym and rents them to kids and adults alike.

I sent a guy who I'd never met some parts to help him finish a build, I paid for postage and everything, I left one small part out by mistake that was worth about $10 new and he let me know about it without even saying thank you for the $90 worth of parts and the $10 postage I paid to get them to him, he even had the nerve to hit me up for more parts a few months later, I declined his request. These days I just keep to myself when it comes to this hobby, I offer advise sometimes but even with that I often feel as though it's a thankless task.

Good luck with your endeavours, but these days I'm more likely to help myself than others when it comes to RC.

We attend and help out at the yearly Race Against Diabetes at our local track, and always make sure to overspend on things by a large amount because it all goes to the American Diabetes Association, and during said race we volunteer to marshal, and help anyone else that needs it. This past year I even gave a complete set of Traxxas pillow ball ends to a guy who was having issues with his sons Blitz popping ball cups constantly, an issue we always had with my wife's Blitz. We don't race as often as we used to, but when we do we are definitely one of the "kinder" people at the track, as much as possible!

Random Acts of Kindness = Good Karma That's never a bad thing. You did good Larry.

Does hooking my buddy into the hobby count? :)

In a lengthy email I tried to let Traxxas know what issues all their models have, how to fix them and how to change their prices...as well as what models to release in the next year. But for some reason, they didn't even reply! (joking)

I teach high school precision machining and we build slot cars and rc cars. I designed all the cars that we have built through the years. We are located 8 miles south of the Rockingham Motor Speedway in NC and plan on building a small scale version of it next year. Here are some pictures of the current 1/12 chassis that we run. 2204 brushless outrunner, 1000 Mah 2 cell, Light weight equals 30+ min run times in the mid 20's to 30mph.http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1948149http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1948150http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1948151http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1948152http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1948153
