Original Version Traxxas Rustler
I just got an original rustler from the local hobby shop for free. They had a huge box of rc stuff given to them and I told them. When they are done taking what they want. I would like to get the rest. I was stunned to find an original rustler in the box in pretty bad shape. I have been working on it and got it to drive. But I am trying to find parts for it. The hobby shop d oesnt know if the modern parts will fit it. Does anyone out there still use this car and can anyone help? Thanks. Emily Shelton.

No, mine is the 1997 Rustler but it is still the original version.

The Rustler has not changed much over the years. Gear cover and slipper are the major differences that I know of. If you compare part numbers between the first generation and the latest version of the Rustler, the numbers are the same.

what parts do you need pretty much the only thing that's changed is the gears in the transmission
and the carriers /steering knuckles and axles I just updated a 1994 rustler to run the new hex wheels other than that its perfect the way it was if you plan on running brushless you may want to buy a new style trans with the metal gears they are cheap y.com/itm/Traxxas-RUSTLER-VXL-Magnum-272-Metal-Gear-Transmission-w-Slipper-Cover-Gearbox/121823276712?hash=item1c5d3baea8:g:ATsAAOSwXeJYCWp M i did my buld pics here https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43392 and added a few here in post # 305 http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-c...-today-13.html |
