2015 Traxxas NItro Rustler Alloy parts
I have a Nitro Rustler that I purchased new in 2015 and I'm looking for aluminum upgrades for the truck but can't find anything for this version, seems upgrade parts are only available for the electric versions. I did buy a kit for the electric version but it is totally different and none of the parts fit. Does any one know if a kit is available, I've broken the rear shock tower 3 times now and would be nice to atleast replace that with aluminum

Replace broken OEM parts with RPM Products instead. Aluminum shock towers, arms, bulkheads, etc. all bend and/or crack. They’re also a LOT heavier. Buy RPM bumpers, arms, shock towers, and put them in a double boiler. Cool in a mild boil for 1 minute. Remove from the double boiler and let cool completely. Now install them and never worry about broken stuff again. If it does break, RPM warrants their products for life.
I’ve had a Nitro Sport and 3 Nitro Rustlers in the course of 20+ years of RC. I’ll tell you if you really want to have a ridiculous Nitro Rustler, do these upgrades: RPM bumper, RPM arms for Jato, Jato axle hubs, Jato driveshafts, Dynamite .19T or Novarossi .15SC engine, the shortest manifold you can find and a CVEC or BUKU pipe. Using Jato suspension requires using 2.8” wheels, but there’s nothing wrong with that. |
