Thinking 1/8th....
I've been thinking about a 1/8th scale buggy for awhile now,but I've been out of the loop to long I think.few years ago I was into r/c cars and I had a rs4mt right when it first came out.Back when I was looking into 1/8th(early 99) it was ofna, kyosho, thundertiger, laro, and mugen. But now from what I can tell thunder tiger isn't around anymore? What about the rest?I want something affordable, thats going to be easy to order parts for(no hobby shops in my area) that the manufacture is going to be around to support for a few years. No racing just bashing.I've got a small mx ttrack I'll prolly run it on the most.I always liked the thunder tiger in price /performance.As long as parts can be attained then I may go that way unless someone has a better idea.Thanx for the help

RE: Thinking 1/8th....
Hey wheres Grassy Butte, I'm at Minot AFB. BY the way 1/8 buggies worth getting would be Kyosho, Mugen, GS Storm, then Ofna. Don't bother with Ofna if its the cheap crap, get atleast a Hyper 7 PBS or Pro.

RE: Thinking 1/8th....
Just be prepared to put down the cash, parts are alot more expensive then 1/10. For example, 60 bucks for a set of rims/tires. They probably use about the same amount of rubber to make them but they are marked up like 4 dollars more, so are the rims. I got a 1/8 scale without even looking at the price of tires. all Im gonna say is that they better last along ***** time. Also none of my LHS carry 1/8 scale parts so I have to order everything from Tower hobbies. If I break something its going to be a 1 week wait and 4 dollars for shipping.

Grassy Butte is about 2.5 hours south west of minot.Heard you got rid of your heli? You know anyone with the 1/8th?As far as price goes its not gonna be so bad...definatly worth it for the speed and power :D I'm also a tower hobbies person...Except I like jr radios and they don't carry anything.Ah wells.Thanx for pointing out the price difference though.Does make some difference.

RE: Thinking 1/8th....
I would look at the cheaper ofna buggies. Also the gsstorm I believe it is, has had some nice reviews and includes a very nice fm radio for not too much money. I shopped around on ebay and got some great deals,a new X-Terminator for less than 300, and a new xs3 radio for like 150. Very happy with both FYI.

RE: Thinking 1/8th....
I've gotta Kyosho Kanai 2, alittle spendy but man talk about power. This thing rips like you wouldn't imagine. So you must be over by Willistan or so then. Its nice to know I'm not the only guy in the state into this stuff.

RE: Thinking 1/8th....
South of williston yet...Actually about 45 minutes below watford...And yea, theres not alot of people in this state that are into the r/c hobbies.Might be getting rid of my heli now since I can't find any flying companions.Catch me on msn if you've got it [email protected]

RE: Thinking 1/8th....
If you sell youe heli you might want to wait until spring. Theres alot of them for sale right now, and nobody wants them.

RE: Thinking 1/8th....
I'll have too keep that in mind.I dunno...It's a challenge to learn, but the engine reliability is a pita right now.As far as a buggy goes....I'm leaning towards a p/s engine to lower the ammount of field equipment required. You mentioned a quad in your other post.Into dirtbikes at all?
