Ineresting. Wont it get inacurate readings when you go from an object with a smaller diameter to one with a larger diameter?

RE: Venom Speed Meter - How does it work??
Yeah if you change the size of anything in the drive line, you have to recalibrate it. The size of your tires and your gearing shouldn't change that much, but if it does the readings will no longer be accurate.

RE: Venom Speed Meter - How does it work??
Works just like the bicycle speedometers with the sensor and magnet on the wheel, or a shaft. Can be either very innacurate or fairly accurate depending on how accurately you measure "set up" distance. The "speed meter" simply counts the revolutions of the magnet over the sensor, and uses an equation with the distance you put in to calculate the speed.

RE: Venom Speed Meter - How does it work??
how come it will only work with a one speed.

RE: Venom Speed Meter - How does it work??
You could use it with a 2 speed, 3 speed, SUV (lol), anything where the wheels contact the ground. If you put the magnetic pickup on one gear of your two speed, it will only give accurate readings of that gear. If you put the sensor on a driveshaft or the wheel (if you can mount the sensor by a wheel, and the pickup on the wheel) it would work for a 2 speed. The directions explain this also.

Directions...
Well.. that would be why I asked that question. :) Thanks! I'm not sure I like this system so much. If t it gave me speed info on my RADIO TX.. now THAT would be a nice buy :) ram |
RE: Venom Speed Meter - How does it work??
Ah yes, if they could do that, it would be worth gold! That would be crazy!
Looks like it would work great for a bit at least until the first time you taged the rails or someone else... Not to mention How you ever know if it is actually working unless you have a speed gun anyway... Although It is probably pretty consistant and could be very useful to test different setups... Anyone out there actually have one of these things working? |
