Quick Tire Help Question
1 Attachment(s)
I just got 4 Proline Road Rage street tires for my Nitro rustler.
The tire treads point like an arrow (see the pic) and after I glued all my tires and put them on my truck, I noticed that I put one of the front tires on with the tread facing the wrong way. So now 3 of my tires arrows point forward and one of the front tires is pointing backwards. Is this going to affect my handling or anything else at all? |
RE: Quick Tire Help Question
I have done this before and felt that warm oh crap feeling as I mounted the tires after the glue dried. It is best for the tire tread to point in the correct direction, however you really should not notice an issue.
So the answer is NO, it really is not something to worry about. If it bothers you that much, like it did me, you can use some debonder on the tire and the rim to soften up the CA and pull the tire off the rim. It will be time consuming and messy depending on how much glue you used on the tire. Once removed you will need to makre sure you clean up the rim with a dremel or file to make a smooth surface to glue to again. Dbow |
RE: Quick Tire Help Question
Only if you drive through water will you notice anything. It may want to pull to one side on a wet surface but that's it. I have the back tires on my rustler backwards. It worked really well on a combo street/dirt track we set up. I used to sell tires for a living and there is nothing worse than realizing the car had directional wheels along with tires and you put them all on wrong!
