stripped plastic threads
What do you use to repair stripped threads in your chassis to avoid buying a new chassis?

RE: stripped plastic threads
maybe you can melt some plastic and pour it in the hole and just re-tap it and stuff.

RE: stripped plastic threads
of if you have have machining skills what I would do would to get a # size bigger bolt
then re drill and thread the hole with the right tap I am making myself a costom rc boat from sratch so I've been doing a lot of this lol Nick |
RE: stripped plastic threads
i use instant glue. fill the hole with glue when dry drill out to just smaller than screw then scew it in. works for me .

RE: stripped plastic threads
I never considered having to re-tap. Thanks for the advise, looks like that's what I'll have to do.

RE: stripped plastic threads
well really you could fill the hole with glue but whats more proffesional looking epoxy or nothing
I dont know I think re threading it would be stronger Nick |
RE: stripped plastic threads
try not to strip things that always helps. but the epoxy idea sounds like it might help.
