what is a pilot shaft driven engine
 
I'm getting a inferno m-p 7.5 sports buggy and it says if you get an pilot shaft engine you would need special parts and i don't know what the hell they're talking about. thaks

They're also known as SG shaft engines. It has a smooth shaft coming out of the front of the crankcase for the clutch bearings to ride on.

good pics. I'm sorry about my previous reply, but while that link does point to a pilot shaft, it's not a pilot shaft engine. The pilot on the engine is the same piece as the crank.
