for a nitro truck what would be better a spring return or a fail safe so confusing[&:]:([sm=bananahead.gif][sm=confused.gif][sm=drowning.gif][sm=spinnyeyes.gif][sm=idea.gif]

A spring is simple and works no matter what. If your rec pack shorts out or gets disconnected the failsafe is not gonna do anything. The best thing is to have both, it can't hurt.

failsafe cuts the power flow to the throttle servo, making it impossible for the truck to go anwhere, they are 99.9% efficient. I'd go with the failsafe, I don't run either, or at least right now until I learn my lesson ;)

well, if you use a spring you will be putting more force on the servo and it will use more power for the servo which will make you use more batterys. but i it might not make a big difference anyway. i say go with the failsafe

I use both TRS and failsafe. Both serves different purposes. It is very expensive to find out the consequences not having one or both. Batteries and stronger servos are much cheaper than replacing parts after a runaway.

From my past experiences I say run both a TR spring and a failsafe. I have had 2 run aways now and will never run again without these safetys in place. Too expensive and too dangerous to not run them. I figured I would never have a problem.. Ya right! You'll see when it happens... Not a good feeling. The TR return spring does load the servo a little more but works fine. 6V is a must for the receiver.
