alright ive been lookin around for a few weeks now and would really like to get into the hobby
my question is what are some good cars to start out with?? i was looking around and came across a few that i liked http://www.hobbytron.net/T-CEN9402.html and http://www.hobbytron.net/Nitro-Ford-...P1-series.html pretty much all im looking for is a beginer car thats gona go pretty and also something that i can upgrade later on thanks for any help |
RE: help please..new here
If you have your heart set on Nitro, Look for a RTR, heck if you are even looking at electric go RTR.
What is RTR you ask, RTR means Ready to run. It comes with almost everything you will need to go out of the box. You will need fuel, batteries and maybe a few other small things. I like the touring cars the HPI makes. thier site is HPIracing.com. The RS4 RTR 3evo is a sweet car. And if you dont like the body just get a differant one. http://www.hpiracing.com/graphics/rt...chassism45.jpg http://www.hpiracing.com/graphics/rt...detail3m45.jpg And you can get it for around $320. DONT BUY FROM HOBBY TRON...buy from your lhs they need the money more than hobby tron even if it cost a lil more...and if u buy from them youll know what parts they have so youll know what car to get...

RE: help please..new here
I agree that your LHS (Local Hobby Store) will be more inclined to help you especially if you buy from them..
BUT.. if your smart with your money and if you know exactly what you need (just takes some research), you can go ahead and browse online stores like towerhobbies, acehobbies etc. Also.. Dont look without knowing what you want. Do you want offroad/Onroad? Do you want a monster truck thats slightly slower but goes over everything? Do you want a 1/10 scale onroad car that has superb speed and handling capabilities? My advice.. do your homework and make sure you KNOW what you want before you go shopping. If you go to your LHS and say "I dont know what I want.. heres 500 bucks".. I'm sure you wont be too happy! ram |
RE: help please..new here
also i would just like to add that hpi makes some nice cars for the beginner and more expert driver. before u get ur car learn how to clean and tune the engine and how to do everthing or just ash ur lhs

RE: help please..new here
In that case, you're probably looking at an Associated Nitro TC3. It's a good all around performer and will be better suited to unprepared surfaces (small pebbles and debris are a belt drive's enemy). It is a fairly durable car. Parts are readily available (both stock and aftermarket). It's a capable racer in stock form.
