PLZ HELP!

Hi all, I have got a r/c fuel car and have been trying to start it for a while. The petrol goes through alright and sometimes i can start it and when i do and i take the glow started of the glow plug it cuts out and when i get it started with a struggle i leave the glow started in and rev it up and it dont seem to be going at high speed .

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

your glow plug is probably bad. That may seem weird hearing that because ususaly when a glow plug goes bad it stops heating. but there is actually pleanty of ways for them to go bad. and your is one of em. it happend to me a few times. just get a new sparkplug and have fun. im 89.99% sure.

I had the same problem. Try tuning the fuel mixture.

Try taking out the plug, cleaning it and the brass o-ring off really good, and tirghtening it down pretyt tight with a socket.

I had the same problem when I first got my evader. Turned out my glow plug wasnt sealing up good, after I took it out and cleaned the threads and that o-ring, then tightened it up really tight, it started working fine.

Also it sounds like the car is running rich, try leaning out the high speed needle valve some.

If this car is brand new and the engine hasnt been brokin in, thats why its not reving up to full rpm. Youll need to properly finish the breakin procedure per teh manufacturers instruction BEFORE fine tuning the valves.

One more thing, I dont know what kind of glow plug heater your using, but if its one of the dry cell operated (the kind that takes a non rechargable c or d cell), then youll probobly have a hard time getitng the car started as those kind of heaters dont get the plug any where near as hot as a rechargable igniter will.

socket?dude, your suppose to use a for way wrench to tighten it down, using a socket you will tighten in to hard and you will stripp the threads on both the glow plug and the heat sink

A four way wrench and socket does the same thing, and you can easily over tighten it with either one, so...

Whats your point!

Without knowing what kinda mechanical condition the engine is in I would say that you need a new plug and set the H/S towards the lean side , now if the engine is older and you have a new plug and the settings are correct it would indicate to me that the Piston and sleeve might need to be replaced, RED

Turn is 1/8-1/16 of a turn at a time. Also, if it's cold you may have to heat the engine up a little. Maybe try a heat gun.
