Hi everyone,

I have a question concerning shock setup on a Gs Storm Unlimited.
Under acceleration the front wheels tend to balloon a lot causing uncontrollable steering and wants to go out of control.
What can I do to prevent this from happing, is the shock set up on my storm incorrect, centre diff oil to thin?
I ride the truck on very loose gravel and there are a lot of jumps to compete with.
What is the best set up for a track like that, stiffer shocks in front and less in the rear or less in front and stiffer at the rear.

u could try stiffening the back up to try to prevent the front wheels from lifting a little, as the weight gets transfered to the rears. other than that, a slight lift of the throttle, then steer, and get back on the power, should help a bit. it might well be worth tring some thicker oil in the centre diff, or even locking it. just try one thing at a time tho, or u wont see what difference each change makes.

for gravel i normally run quite a stiff setup with at least 60wt oil in the shocks, but i dont have a gs storm... same principle should apply tho.

thank you im going to try stiffining the rear shocks a bit then test the storm.

Oh yes what do you mean by locking up the centre diff !!!!!!

we are busy leasing some land here in South Africa ( Cape Town ) for a track as there isnt much around for us.

Im going to do one thing at a time.

The tyre question , It is the stock tyres that come with the truck ( look up the Storm Unlimited for a idea.

Mmmm, Cape Town...gorgeous. I stayed in Camps Bay for a while a few years back. Whereabouts is your track going to be in Cape Town?

If it is a stcok SUT you NEED to redo the Diffs with silicon oil
read this on how to set up your SUT like Marty Korn does

I run my truck with real stiff shocks in front and back and dosent lift up at all unless i jam throtle on pavement. I run on gravle and pavement and dont seem to have a problem with handleing. If you are having problems with real loose shocks try to get stiffer springs and check your oil level.

You might also want to add more foam to your front tires. will add a little wait and should make handleing more stable. Hope u find this infor useful and let me no how it turns out.
