is this broken or normal???
after giving my rush evo some serious bashing and some cool doughnuts I took it apart to clean it up as I accidentally ran it into a pile of building sand (not doing that again!!!!). anyway I was flying over the speedbumps in the road and think I might have broke it. the rear drive wheels move in an unusual way I could spend hours explaining but it was easier to do a video. I thought it might be the gear box so I took that apart and took the big fat gear apart and I couldn't see any signs of broken plastic or stripped gears. so is this movement of the wheels in the video normal???

You eat girlscouts but you can't open a video???? I'd stick with the cookies if I were you!! Anyway, back on topic. Nice video. you're right, way better than trying to explain it. When you move one wheel the wheel the other side moves in the opposite direction. That's correct. It's the normal differential action. If you had the gear spring set fitted they would move in the same direction. With respect to you moving the spur gear (the big black cog) and only one wheel tunring, I'm going to guess that the wheel nearest you in the video has some binding somewhere along the line. Maybe a bad bearing, or perhaps the wheel is done up too tight to the hub causing some extra friction? Hope that helps. |

tucker.. I agree with you that something is binding up.... But I'm thinking maybe lackin diff grease or fluid... I know with my MT2 if the diff is dry it doesn't work as good as it should... It seems from the vid that everything is loose..... just a thought...

Yeah you could be right. Hard to tell without actually being there and having a feel really.

Quote: "When you move one wheel the wheel the other side moves in the opposite direction" but only half so when I move the right wheel the wheel the left moves in the opposite direction. but when I move the left wheel the big black cog turns and the right wheel stays still but if I move the left wheel and hold the big black cog still then the right wheel moves in the opposite direction. so the big black cog seems to be moving when I turn the left wheel, but stays still when I turn the right wheel. does this help??? also what difference does adjusting or buying a soft/med/hard spring on the big black cog???
