Is my engine junk???
 

I have a Duratrax Maximum ST and i know it wasnt meant to be a speed demon but any time i tune it to actually go somewhat fast the engine way over heats in maybe 30 secs it is way too hot to touch. but if i go by what my LHS has to say i need to rich it out but then the car is terrible i need to floor it to get it to move and it looks like i could run faster then it. And no i have tried every thing in between it is either very slow our way to hot

Im thinking about buying a new Torq .16

dude thats what my engine does. heres a tip for you(STAY A WAY FOR DUARTRAX ENGINES) you need a o.s. engine. so dont buy
another engine from DUARTRAX go with o.s. or some other high end engines.

it could be the motor, but if it takes almost wot to get it moving, i would check my clutch shoes before anything else. i have a question, did it slowly start to loose acceleration or did it all of a sudden just go really bad. if it all of sudden went really bad then something might be stuck in the dog bone joints or in a pulley if it is belt driven (i dont know alot about specific rc'c) so i dont know if it is shaft driven or belt rc. hope this helped
