Same post's over and over and over!!!!!!!!

This may be off topic but I am getting sick and tired of people asking the same question's over and over when they are to lazy just to search the forum's because the answer they are looking for is already in here, for instance, (I'm a newbie to this hobby, what truck should I get?) I have ready about 5 of those in that past two week's, please tell me someone agrees's with me on this subject?

Is this your first online forum?

It's the nature of the beast. The most common questions are asked commonly :D
Faq's, stickies, and good search engines do little to stem the tide. Some forums resort to the 'search nazis' where any newcomer gets flamed for asking a common question. It's really not a nice solution as you end up with newcomers afraid to join in discussions.

Luckily, the cycle sort of supports itself. Newcomers get answers to their common questions, then down the road a little bit, they answer those same questions for the new batch of newcomers, so the original folks who answered them don't have to.

It adds a lot of noise to the board, but at least it encourages free discussion.

I see you've been here a couple months, it's your shift, so get answerin'

Btw, which should I get, Revo or Savage?

Another option for you is simply not to click on the "which buggy/truck/MT should I buy" threads.

Also, without these threads coming up again and again, new comparisons on the strengths and weaknesses wouldn't happen nearly as often. Sometimes new tips, tricks, and valuable advice come out of these repeat threads.

Good point's but I think you know what I mean though...

Get a REVO! I got my first one Saturday! Best truck out there in my opinion, when you here the people say that Traxxas is junk, um now, great manufacture, they just don't know how to maintain them and treat them!

Sure we do, but like i said, it's the nature of the beast.
Some folks will use search when they're new to a message board. Those folks are usually familiar with online forums though. Many of our new users aren't, and really have no idea how to use search, or how much info is actually at their fingertips. They will learn eventually. Once they learn, they will either use it, or not.

You can make the choice to ignore these same old threads. Just because it's in bold, doesn't mean you have to click it. If you're not interested in another Revo vs Savage thread, don't read it. They really don't do any harm, as they usually drift off the main page in a day or two, unless an interesting discussion actually appears.

Hey GT one of the things I will also do is tell them to look through the forum pages and they can pick what they are interested in. That way I am not a jerk and hopefully they will do some research. I have been on for almost a year and only have what 70 some posts but I will still try to help even if its the same over and over and over. I see it too. lol

Yeah, I will do my best to help them out, I just wish they would research the forum's before they did.

Since you already own a Savage, get a Revo. ;)

My tongue was firmly planted in my cheek.
Overwhelming support for the revo, but since i already have a monster, i've changed my mind and will get an 1/8th buggy. Anyone know the best one?

/still in the cheek

I think the Revo and the Savage are both junk!!!!! It's all about the Revage!

GT RaCeR, I am willing to bet that when you came to this forum, you asked the "same post's" just like every other newbie out there.

Don't like it, don't take it. Nobody is asking you to click on the "RC Cars" section in RCU.

I agree with most of you. I don't mind these threads. If I don't want to read them I don't click them. If I am feeling helpful than I will and i will share my experiance with the newb. But I am never the ***** who gets mad and rudly tells them to search, because it's happened to me.[&o]
