help

I am new to this however I have played with different kinds of rc cars in my life but none equal to what I've seen on this web site.My son and I have decided to try this as a hobby to do together. I am searching for an affordable start. Everything I've seen is kind of overwhelming to me. So if there is anyone out there willing to offer some suggestions I would certainly appriciate it.

Thank you

RE: help

well what are you planning on doing, racing? backyard bashing? weekend fun? the RC10GT is a good truck for racing, and just messing around, it is only $300 i believe, it is a great starter, easy to maintain, it is very durable considering you and your son havent actually operated a rc car hat goes up to 40mph,lol, but there are many good trucks out, the nitro rustler is a good truck, i own one and im very happy, there is also the nitro evader, the jato, i have heard good things about all these trucks, i also own a maximum st from duratrx, not so good on high speed but alot of torq that is for sure, easy to work on, parts are cheaps, same thing for a nitro rustler, parts are very cheap, but if not tooken care off welll it will break on you, it is fairly easy to work on it after you take it apart to clean it like couple of times, it is just like a puzzle, it can only be put together one way, that goes to all rc cars, teh evador is a easy truck to work on, i ahve helped a friend numorous times on his, they run nice....and are fairly strong, w/e choice you make, it will be a good choice you will have fun with it, you can always upgrade your parts, to either aluminum or just parts from RPM, which have a life time warranty, so if you break it, they send you another part, lol, it's free too, there are many different type of engines out there that can take the spot of your stock engine, if you ont want to replace it, but your engine is worn out and needs a rebuild, there are parts hat you can order online or at the hobby shop. it is a good idea to go give a visit to your local hobby shop, and see what brand they supply the most parts for, so if you break anything, you wont have to wait a long time to get the parts of pay for shipping, also ask them what truck they recommend, they may have a good deal for a good truck, but also, do you want a stadium truck? or a 4wd truck with a 2 speed transmission and reverse? for monster trucks there are alot that are good, but they will cost you more, the revo, tmaxx, savage, savage ss(expensive), MGT are all good trucks, but again just go check your hobby shop out
