Is brushless really worth it?

Is a brushless system really worth getting and what is has to be done in order to maintain it after a very, very long amount of runs? I know there is virtually no cleaning or replacing parts but I saw some backup parts on Tower so I am wondering. Will it really save me money and time in the long run aside from traditional motors? Which is the best and fastest system to get to get for my Evader ST?

The only time I ever heard or saw someone need to get the backup parts (specifically a rotor) it was because they were jamming the car from forward to reverse. Other than that, take it apart and clean the bearings once in a while and you're all set. I believe it was Novak that claimed they got over 400 runs without significant degredation before things started to need a rebuild.

If you want painless RC'ing and next to no maintenanec, a brushless setup is awful tough to beat.

I have decided to get a brushless system. What brand/ model should I go with that will bring me the best power and speed for a good price?

Thanks, Shredder111[>:]

There are a few options or "roads" that you can go down with brushless. You can go with the Entry level Novak systems that are convenient and are easy to get help with if something goes wrong. They offer plenty of power for most guys just taking the step into brushless and I think that you'll be happy with it. Or you can step into the "high" end systems from companies like MGM, Schultz, Lehner and Pletenberg.
For more information head over to [link=http://www.rc-monster.com]RC Monster[/link] the guy that runs it is named Mike and he hands down has the most knowledge on brushless systems. He not only sells systems on the site but he also has forums that are really helpful. Just do a search first because I'm on there often (more than here) and I know that we've answered your question many times. Hope that helps.
