make sure your transmission gears and stuff arnt stripped and make sure everything is looking good and take your body off and take it off and put it on the ground and rev the engine a little seeing what isnt moving and fix it

Did you break it in or just start and try to go?
Nitro vehicles need a period of use (usually several tanks of fuel) with very rich carb settings and a specific set of operating instructions. It's not unusual for the first tank of fuel run through a nitro engine to be consumed at idle. You should really read the instructions in your manual for engine and truck break-in. Until the engine is properly broken in you really should not be trying to tune the truck to run normally
As a general reference these engines use a centrifical clutch on the end of the crankshaft that has to exceed a certain RPM before it engages and causes the drive train to spin and move the truck. During rich break-in settings it's not too unusual for the to develope less power. Don't worry, the more you use it, the better it will get. Some engines are infamous for not developing their full potential until they've been through a gallon of fuel or more.

During Break In, the engine should never be so rich that it won't even move. Especially if the common "heat cycle" method is used.

This is the proper way to break in any ABC engine: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_2786285/tm.htm
Idling a tank is useless to the engine.

OK,, its a 2 speed buggy i bought off of ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1
here is a pic of it.
i started it and adjusted the carb.
the wheels spin when its idiling<sp> but when i put it on the ground and even if i full throttle it it moves like 5 inches.
ive tried running a couple of tanks of fuel through it but still nothing
ive adjusted all the controls on the remote, thinking maybe its something off of that,, still nothing..
i was hoping i would be driving it by now
thanks for any help in advance.

RE: My Car doesnt Move HELP

They claim 55-65mph! No way, I hope you did not buy it because of the speed it won't reach!

As far as the problem, I'm not seeing a clear picture of whats actually going wrong. This is what I'm getting. When you start the engine and it idles the wheels are rotating when it's off the ground. When you place the car on the ground it is still idling but not moving. Then you give it stick and it dies.

When it dies does it sound like it's gurgling? Then its too rich. If it sounds like it has been choked then it is too lean. Adjust the HSN on the carb accordingly.

For the LSN pinch the fuel line 1/2 inch away from carb when the engine is idling. If it dies right away it is too lean. If it takes 2-3 seconds it is in the general area. If it takes greater than 4 seconds it is too rich. Ajust the LSN accordingly.

To richen turn counter clockwise
To lean the engine turn Clockwise

It doesnt die,, it just takes the throttle, but still doesnt move.

When you start it and rev it up, take a very close look at the front and rear tires and see if they are moving in the same direction. It sounds as if one of your diffs is backwards.

RE: My Car doesnt Move HELP

The wheels moving at idle is an indication of either a high idle or a busted clutch. A bad clutch will also account for the other problems you are experiencing. A bad diff should still allow the car to move - probably in 2WD.

Definately open up the clutch, it may be as simple as a snapped spring.

hehehe, THATS A SMARTECH!!! :-P as for it not moving, my mate had the same problem with his brand new smartech, when he revs it, the clutch is fine because you can see the gears (the 1's that touch the clutchbell) moving. There is something wrong with the gearbox. The best thing to do is email smartech about it http://www.smartechracing.com/
