KYOSHO PURE TEN ALPHA 2
Hi there, I know these cars very well. YES, I can recommend it. Just make sure you get the Alpha 2 and not the Alpha. The difference is a steel clutch-bell as opposed to plastic on the "1". The plastic bell usually lasts about a half an hour and the replacement steel bell costs s sh##tload of money.
Oh and a tunepipe and different-colored alu chassis have been added on the "2" aswell. The tunepipe is a bad move from Kyosho, 'cause it means that the drivetrain will wear out faster. You see, there are no ball-bearings in this set. And since it's a budget-priced entry-level car, the buyers seldom fork out the extra money for the required ball-bearings. So after a couple of weeks, the differentials have developed so much slack that the gears start to wear alarmingly quick. No oil-filled dampers are included either, they cost extra. But hey, it's a cheap car, you get what you pay for. You probably wont need oil-dampers going back and fourth the street either, but buy the ball bearings. Sum up: The car's OK. Just add bearings and off you go! |

ok HPI look kinda rockin and team accociated look pretty rude boy cars but findin it hard to find a full RTR car bloody hard to find in the UK as im finding out
|
Oh, forgot...
...to mention: The radio transmitter in the Kyosho set is EXCELLENT. (For a non-high-end & very-expensive transmitter, that is)
The batteries are located IN the handle instead of under it. This gives a good balance-feel. Ergonomics are flawless and it has a charge plug. In fact this is the transmitter I use for all my cars. (It came with my mini-z :-) |

BoMeX......Just a suggestion you might try (you may have already) is to do a search using http://www.google.com
Try using a combo of words....i.e. RC hobby shops in UK. Try different things and see what comes up. Good luck! :) |

Have u considered a Traxxes 4tec, over 60mph right out of the box and they have great customer service, might be slightly over $250, but it has a good motor and 2speed. Whereas the RTR RS4 doesn't have two speed which u're going to end up wanting to get it right off the bat if u want some good top speed and even then the rtr rs4 probably barely get u around 50mph.

You may be right, everybody's different, but I'm willing to bet that after playing with it a few times, you will want a 2 speed, I guess it also depends if you have friends that have nitro cars too, if you pretty much play by yourself, U might be ok. but if u got friends with faster cars, U'll be goin nuts, that's just from my experience anyway. Good Luck with your choice, either way you'll have a blast, welcome to r/c!

thx for ya help all ..think ill get the HPI 1 think it'll last longer than the Kyosho 1 .. only prob its a huge £349 RTR including :
Car c/w engine Radio Fuel Glow Start Fuel Bottle Plug Spanner and l8r on i will most likely get the 2 speed and any other options i might be able to purchase due to the selling price can go up if well maintained :) another thing what is the whole purpose of after use oil ? not to sure so ill ask u guys ..u know more than me :) and is it essential ? thx :drowning: me with knowledge :) |

Nitro fuel by it's nature can draw moisture which in an RC engine can actually ruin the insides of parts of the engine. After run oil puts a nice protective coating on all of the insides (when done properly) so you extend the life of the engine through some very basic preventative steps. Marvel Mystery oil here is very cheap and easy to buy. That is what I use. Here we can by it at Wal Mart or automotive stores.
To use it....simply pinch the fuel line to burn any excess gas into the carb....then when your ready....remove the glow plug and squirt several drops into the cylinder head. Some guys then will use the pull starter to move the piston up and down several times to help the oil do it's job. Also....you can add several drops through the carb....and follow the same procedure as before. Just be sure not to use your glow igniter while doing this. You are not running the engine at this point....but instead are adding a coating of oil for protection. Good Luck! :) |
