RE: new engine
fule is gettin to engine and glow plug is fine.....it tried to flood one time so i know fuel is gettin to the engine, it just wont crank [&o] but there is a plastic part that the flywheel is rubbing. i thought if it would crank that it would just rub it away and it wouldnt matter but maybe this has something to do with it. anyone know if it matters if i cut out the plastic piece or not. im not sure what it does. maybe protection for the flywheel? well, maybe someone has a rustler that can tell me if its ok to do away with this piece or not. i looked and cant see any harm in it but anyways....anymore suggestions?? THANKS

RE: new engine
The motor is incredibly tight when new, and this can be confused with many things.
When you say, 'won't crank' that is taken to mean that it won't budge when discussing engines. "Won't fire" means it cranks, but won't start and run. If the engine won't budge, get out a hair dryer and warm the engine thoroughly. Get it reall toasty hot and that should let the sleeve expand and free up the piston. A new piston that is stuck in a new sleeve won't move if a gorilla tried to pull the starter. |
RE: new engine
thanks for helping anyways but i cut out the plastic piece that was rubbing and it started right up but it wont idle right now and its too dark to break it in so ill wait till tomorrow...i just hope i can keep it runnning since it wont idle...any tips there?
