WHY GO BRUSHLESS??????????
IV BEEN HEARING PEOPLE GO BRUSHLESS RIGHT AFTER THEIR STOCK MOTOR.I DONT KNOW WHY PEOPLE CEEP SAYING ITS FASTER WHEN THEY NEVER HAD A FAST BRUSHED MOTOR.THIS IS MAKING ME SO MAD BECOUS YOU DONT SEE WORLD CLASS RACERS LIKE BRIAN KINWALD USING BRUSHED OR THAT HARA GUY THAT RACES FOR HOT BODIES TOURING DO YOU? I DONT THINK SO! SO BEFOR ENYONE GO BRUSHLESS TRY OUT A FASTER BRUSHED MOTER!!!!!!!!!!![:@][:@][:@]

I believe brushless motors are much more effecient that brushed motors, and are less likely to burn up. They can also deliver more power.

THE ONLY REOSON I WOULD GET A BRUSHLESS MOTOR FOR IS TO GO BASHING WITH IT.BUT LETS SAY YOU GET THE FASTEST BRUSHED MOTOR AND THE FASTEST BRUSHLESS MOTOR AND PUT THEM IN THE SAME CAR WITH THE SAME GEARING SAME EVERYTHING ECEPT THE MOTOR AND ELECTRONICS.THE BRUSHED MOTOR WOULD WOOP THE BRUSHLESS'S ***** ON A DRAG STRIP THAT TAKES NO DRIVING SKILLS WHAT SO EVER!BECOUSE IV SEEN THIS VIDEO A WILE BACK AND THEY PAST THREW THE PITS SHOWING ALL THE CARS AND NOT ONE WAS BRUSHLESS SO CAN ENYONE EXPLANE THAT???

Did you ever think that some people go brushless so they don't have to maintenance the motor; like changing brushes or cutting the common?

i think alot of tracks dont have a class to run brushless, the main reason to go brushless is you dont have to maintain them.

I think the only reason I would go brushless, is the longevity of the motor compared to brushed.
Brushless is, as Selatio says, more efficient. I think its like a comparison between a 2L tuner and say, a 455 BB. You can get the same horsepower out of both, but the 4 banger will never get the same torque as the V8. But people go for the 4 because it requires no carb or timing tuning etc... and it's cheaper on fuel, and it will go 300000km before it needs a rebuild. |

My track doesn't have a brushless class either. The don't allow it either. I think it is very easy to maintain and is faster with a lipo set up. I read a review in the RC Driver mag and it was on a stock lipo brushless buggy that did 53.7 MPH!! I said if i ever do get a electric car it would be that. Noe the down side is that id it costs like 750$!

I have a brushless motor on my TC4 and i love. I have zero maintanence on it. So all i have to do is charge my batteries and i'm off. I just bash so it's perfect for me. I call it my lazy R/C.

Losi has a kit that now has a brushless motor stock, if you just got in RC with that kit.... you may not have ever had a brushed motor.

The lehner's, hackers, feigio's come to mind... some of them have 60,000+ rpm's. You can generally also run more cells or Lipo easier with brushless which will give you significant gains in speed to an extent. Of course with a much lighter wallet as well. ;) |

and someone might ask where is this thread going to???????? well i was trying to make a point to rc car people that anyone who thinks their brushless is the bomb for racing and never felt the power from a real brushed motor then do some research on some racing..........:D

1st Stop shouting.
Low maintenance. I ran a bushless motor all winter in the mod truck class with "Zero" maint. I had enough power to bring the truck up and over when hitting bumps under full power on the off road straightaway. Running a caged sprint car now with the same brushless motor/speed control setup. The car is just as fast as a gas sprint car and guess what no motor maintenance. I think bushless and li-po batteries are the future of electric RC racing. |

ok i should have named this thread (brushless is faster?) but yea i understand why people go geting brushless. shoot i might get one my self but i dont beleive it it faster. and how am i shouting? im typing lol

The only reason my track banned brushless, was for the guys that have all the money tied up in several motor's, lathes, brushes..... They could not use their brushed motor secrets or so called "voodoo" and dominate the track. You should have heard all them guys belly aching when me and a friend showed up last year with brushless set-ups which were legal last year by club rules. :)
I can see not running brushless in spec and stock class, but modified? |
