Radio glitches are caused by various things. Metal to metal contacts can really screw up radio signals. If your making these kinds of contacts/connections then your already set up for disaster. When setting up airplanes with radio gear you'll learn quickly about using nylon connectors to metal parts to prevent radio glitches.

Using airplane radio gear in a car is probably not the best idea going. I'm sure there are some guys out there who have tried it and probably are using them....but when it says on the box...."Airplane Radio" then that is where I would intend to use it. I'm sure you could never show up to a local hobby race track with an airplane radio installed....but then I really wouldn't know about that since I do not race. Also...I would think the frequencies may be affected if installed in a RC car/truck. Maybe someone out there can shed some "technical" light on this but my gut instinct say's...."DON'T DO IT".

I'll tell ya what;I wouldn't put that radio in a plane.EVER.

If your having glitches 2 feet away from it there is a problem.

You can probably get a cheap 2 channel am car radio for $40 or less.

NEVER...I repeat...NEVER use an air frequency in a gound vehicle. While your glitch problem is probably related to something other than the frequency, there is a reason radios are labeled for ground vs. air..

First, it's illegal.

Second, you may cause an R/C airplane or Heli to go out of control.

Third, someone flying their plane may cause you to crash your car.

Please go purchase an inexpensive car radio and receiver. You should be able to continue to use the servos you alread have.

yes crash is right metel to metel will really screw it up. When i put my ignighter on my car engin or when i go to turn the idel screw my wheels go left to right fast becasue of the metel screw driver and i dont have plastic connectors going from the servo to the engine and it messes it up..

Also the preflight on an airplane consists of a ground check.Which means checking your radio at ground level before take-off.
This helps to not kill an innocent bystander.

If the radio doesn't work on the ground,it doesn't work.

As already mentioned, it's illegal to use airplane freqs in ground vehicles.

On to your glitch problem. If you get glitches when very close, but no "control",
even when you're further away than a few feet, then you probably have a
transmitter and receiver that either aren't on the same channel, or a broken crystal.
Shattered crystals are rather uncommon in transmitters, but rather common
in receivers, especially after the receiver has been involved in a crash.
I'm assuming you have no control with the engine on or off... not just with it "on".

Sounds like it's time to send the transmitter and receiver for service/repair,
before the time comes that you actually want to use it in an airplane again.

Airplane frequencies should never be used in ground vehicles for another reason besides being illegal. A plane that is "hit" by another frequency not only loses control and crashes, but that crash could hurt or even kill someone. Flyers have strict control of their frequencies. At the flying field, it is set up that only one frequency flys at a time. Compare that with cars and boats. I'm sure you have had two people, at the local parking lot or pond on the same frequency until someone crashes into the curb or bank. A plane falling out of the sky could be fatal. It is a matter of responsibility. Think about it.
