really its just a matter of prefrence. for pro's and con's check the sticky post called "**choosing your first R/C**"

RE: Nitro or Electric?
well here it is, if you have time and patience nitro because it takes alot of time to learn how to tune engines perfelty if not electri, the thing about about electric that I dont like is the battery charging wich takes for ever unless u spend like alot of money on those quick and expensive chargers.
This is my view!! |
RE: Nitro or Electric?
Depends if you like to get your hands dirty or not. cough(go nitro)cough cough

RE: Nitro or Electric?
As has been said already, it is a preference thing, Elec has short run times, but easy to use. Nitro is harder to get tuned etc, but you can run it all day just by adding fuel to the tank.

No offense, but this post has been asked a lot of times, and I hope this thread doesn't turn into a flame war. Nitros are definately more difficult than electric, with all the precise tuning that needs to be done. Electric is short, sweet, run times and can actually beat out nitros if they are upgraded heavily. I, personally, like nitro because that's all I have, but I wouldn't mind having an electric. It depends on personal preference.;)

Yeesh, not again...I have/like both. If you have no previous knowledge of either, pick what you think you'll like and get it. Don't be intimidated by nitro burners. In either case you will be learning something new. In fact, if you are not going to race, they are both very simple to use.

yea you should pick whichever you like better i was just joking with those nitro coments

RE: Nitro or Electric?
Oh damn the dreaded question.
The answer to your question is dependent on what you want to do with the hobby. If you want to get all into and enjoy tinkering with engines, and fixing things. Then absolutely go nitro. If you want something you can just pick up and go. Then I would say go with electric. Both electric and nitro have their advantages and disadvantages. Like everyone else has said. You have to pick out what works best for you. You may buy one and find out that you should have boughten the other one instead. Give them both a try and go from their. |
RE: Nitro or Electric?
If you are just getting to the hobby, Electric is the way to go for many reasons...
Starting out with EP takes the fact that you'll have to learn to tun an engine at the same time as you learn to drive the car. Electrics are lighter and normally break less than a nitro when you hit something Even Nitro only people should own a decent charger, you don't need a Turbo 35, a middle of the road charger is good. You have something else to use when you eventually buy a Nitro and it refuses to start... |
RE: Nitro or Electric?
Electric is easier, but nitro is more fun IMO. Faster outta the box and you can actually hear the power.
