hey guys, im new to the RC World, i know i want a street car, and i've been looking at a couple of cars, and would like to know which one to get. I've been looking at the Traxxas RTR Nitro 4 tech (which from what i know is about $350) and ive also looked at some HPI RTR RS4 cars which seem pretty nice, but people tell me, are not as fast as the 4 Tech. So now my question is, which car do you think will be the best for me. I also wanted to know if anyone knows the difference Between the HPI RTR Super Nitro RS4 and the HPI RTR nitro RS4, besides the fact that the super Nitro is a little more money, and sounds like its faster. How about Team Associated, cuz i've seen some of their RTR cars for some good prices, So what do you guys think is best? Any help will be asppreciated, Thanks...

They are all pretty good cars, dont forget the Associated TC3 also.

The Traxxas may be faster on top end, but it may take alot longer to get there, so in a given area the other cars will may beat it.

I just picked up the HPI RTR RS4 3 from Ultimate Hobbies for $209 + shipping... I was turned on to them from a post I saw on here made by another member..... Its on its way, and I should have it by mid next week... :)

Speed=Better? NOT!
 

Since this is your first car.. I would rather consider other things like
Is it durable?
User friendly?
Easy to Control?

More than speed. In my opinion, 40Mph+ is decent enough to enjoy.

ITs your call, but I bought the HPI RS4 SS. I had a fun time building it and even though it hasnt been fully broken in, its a screamer! The RTR shouldnt be far behind.

I saw on Ultimate Hobbies website they sell the RC10GT RTR for $269.00. Good price but was curious about shipping.

What are they going for over there JohnVH plus shipping?

Yeah, i guess those are good things to think about, user friendly, durable and easy to use. So guys i had another question, If i was to buy the Traxxas, can an HPI body fit on it, or does it have to be its own brand?

I think so..
 

From what I know, A 200mm body will fit almost any 200mm chassis.

So technically yes, but things like body shape might make that hard.

Disclaimer: newbie talking, take words with a pinch of salt!

HPI Bodies
 

I am a devoted follower of the HPI bodies, In my opinon they have the cleanest sharpest designs over anything else.
They also have more selection than any other that I know of.

And yes any 200mm touring body will fit any 200mm touring car, its basically the standard. Just about all companies make the 200mm bodies in one shape or another.
The difference though is that you might have to cut the wheel wells a little different and the support holes different than what is shown on the body. HPI cars usually fit right into the pre marked cuts and so forth.
HPI bodies do also come with a protective coating that keeps overspray off the outside while you are painting.

Be careful in the hobby shop though, its easy to pick up a 190mm thinking its 200mm. The 190mm is for electric touring and so forth.

If you want to be roar legal for racing you will need a four door sedan type body. Alfa romeo and Dogde Stratus are very popular roar legal bodies. The startus is one of my favorites.

If you are into the 60's and 70's cars like the Camaro and so forth BOLINK makes 200mm touring bodies in various styles. Of course these are not roar legal but certainly look awesome.
