Nitro MT problems

I am having problems tuning my MT I get it running real good but then at about 1/2 tank it runs bad-I know they lean out as the fuel gets lower but with only 1 needle I cant seem to get it right-any ideas? Where r u guys running your needle at? I also rebuilt and filled the shocks with fresh oil but I cant keep the caps tight-are the bodys worn out? Thanks in advance for any help

how many gallons has the engine had through it? half a tank is about the time it fully awrms up and if your compression is gone it will run really badly, and replace the shock bodies, they arent expensive, or better yet, dont replace, upgrade

guy I got it from says 1/2 gal since piston and sleeve-feels like it has pretty good compression to me-any easy ways to tell if its worn?

yeah, put the truck on the table and pull the starter, if the whole truck comes up without a pass or two of the piston then your good. If the the starter rolls a few times or the trcuk stays on the table(back end only of course) its time for a new rebuild or engine. Check the for sell section this weekend I'll have mine for sale with hop-ups and new os racing.
