piston location
I was wondering about how to get the piston to the bottom after you shut off the engine. Is it at the bottom when you are turning the flywheel (with your hand) and it gets hard to turn, or after you turn it when it's hard to turn. Also, am I right that the piston should be at the bottom when your done running? Thanks, Josh

Bottom
I would not worry about the placement of the piston unless its a new engine.
When an engine is new the internals are getting broke in on the first tanks and such. The internals are expanding and shrinking, when you leave the piston at the top of the sleeve the sleeve cannot shrink back down to where it shoud be, but rather shrinks down around the piston, which will then be stuck. To determine where the piston is, remove your glow plug and look into the engine. Then position the piston with your finger on the flywheel. Do this right after you finish a run as the engine will still be warm and the engine will roll over fairly easy. Once you see it at the bottom you can add a drop of 2 of oil and let it cool down. again, I only feel this practice is needed on new engines, some engines will take longer to break in and the longer to baby it the longer the engine will last.
