In a pinch-please help

I'm moving up form xmods and miniz's to bigger and better things.
And I found 2 rtr starter cars,But which one? That's why I need some advice on which one to get!

this: http://www.wowzzers.com/110scalehbxl...car-p-309.html

or this: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXGXM1&P=7

???

RE: In a pinch-please help

Well there both kinda on the cheap side. Parts for both would be alittle hard to find. If anything I would go with the 2nd one as the 2nd would be a little easier to get parts. But if you have the money I would definately go with something better then those two. Maybe a losi or associated or something like that.

But thats just my opinion.

RE: In a pinch-please help

I can only spare about 250-275, so I thought the gt would be a better idea because it has a warranty and is upgradeable.

RE: In a pinch-please help

Well If you have $275 then I would get a TC4 http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXMGP9&P=ML
You will need a charger and a battery if you didn't know. I have one and it is very durable, nothing has ever broke. Just my $0.02

RE: In a pinch-please help

But how quick is it?

Dokioto 09-29-2006 09:21 PM

RE: In a pinch-please help

Stock, 20-25 mph.

miniz33 09-29-2006 09:25 PM

RE: In a pinch-please help

Is there a way to boost speed? the 1st one I posted was supposedly 40mph!

Would that help with speed?

RE: In a pinch-please help

I don't have any experiences with that motor so I couldn't tell you if it would make it faster. But I bet it will be a little faster than the stock rtr motor.

Takedown 09-29-2006 10:18 PM

RE: In a pinch-please help

Yes That motor will make it fly!!! Like 30+mph possibly 35mph! My brother has one on his new Stampede Xl5. I has super torque![:-]

RE: In a pinch-please help

this is gonna kick butt!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: In a pinch-please help

It may reduce speed the original motors a 17 turn, while the motor I posted is a 15 turn.

RE: In a pinch-please help

i would get the tamiya. do a search for the tt01 chassis and i'm sure you'll find plenty of things people are doing with them.

You got it back wards, the lower the Turn on the motor the faster it is. So a 15 Turn motor will be faster than a 17 turn motor.

RE: In a pinch-please help

I'm sorry to tell you but that first one will not reach 40mph or even near it. I say if anything maybe 15 to 20 at the most. That 15 turn motor will do you quite fine as in speed. Just make sure that your esc can handle that lowe of a turn. If not then you will ruin the esc.

But yes the lower the turns the higher the speed's. But the higher turns you will have more torque though. Dont change gears unless you know what you are doing with roll out and things like that which I dont think you do if you where seriously thinking about those rc's. Dont be worried as the TC4 will out run that first rc you posted any day without a doubt. It will also out handle and if you break the thing you can get replacement parts for it. But just believe me that both of those rc's that you posted will not reach 30 let alone 40.

RE: In a pinch-please help

Thanks, whats a decent motor that will increase the speed and still has good torque?

miniz33 10-19-2006 04:30 PM

RE: In a pinch-please help

LOLF,how about this monster? http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXNKU5&P=7

Anyways,I've just moved out of xmods and mini-z's,I am a quick learner too but I don't know which motor to buy!
And it's not going to stay stock. So can someone recommend a motor so I don't blow the board when I hit the gas?

RE: In a pinch-please help

Dude can ya save a little more money than what you have say some where around 350 at least then you could get something that you are looking for. I know how it feels to want it now and go race the guys on the week end but sounds like to me you are just buying something to buy it. Dont get me wrong you do what you want to do. My advice is to make a list of what it is you want out of the car and search search search. You be amazed how you can find sites where guys take these cars and mod the heck out of them. what you are gonna spend buying a car then adding a new motor and esc to handle that motor and batts. LIPOS i would suggest lighter, more effecient. You be better off getting a car that has better Electronics in it. When you buy things like that from places out of the box they give you crap for motors and esc and such, they want you to buy that stuff seperate. The bigger the coin the better the toy.

Iam just trying to let you know what no body told me when I started out.

RE: In a pinch-please help

Thanks for the advice, But no I am not buying just to blow money, I figured it's time for a 26 year old man to move out of the rc cars that most twelve year old boys have. I really had a secret plan to make a spy-buggy. You see I already ordered a micro spy camera with audio and color video. But I am not sure which car I need for this!
* The qualities I am looking for are,
1. decent speed -15-20mph.
2. atleast half-ass runtimes.
3. Awesome torque.
4. I would like to have something that has readily available parts, and offroad abilites.
5. It can't look out of this world, like a dune buggy
6. reliable
7. And it has to be rtr or arr
8. and finally digital preportional would be nice
9. the budget is now 375$.
*If I do buy the tc4 I will not go off-road,I'm not that dumb!

The only vehicle I found that fits these descriptions are the tamiya widnight pumpkin and clod buster. If anyone has any suggestions it for
a candidate I would be eternally greatful.

RE: In a pinch-please help

the tc4 is ur best bet for onroad
that hbx car is total junk(it s a cheap knock of of tamiya ) and tamiya cars are still toys compared to a tc4 unless u buy all the hop ups for it

do u want on road or off road caus the clod and midnight are bolt ofraod
if u r looking for a good off road car look into the associated t4 or an duratrax evader they should bolth be in ur price range

Rs43EVOman 10-21-2006 03:16 PM

RE: In a pinch-please help

if your looking into on-road definently go for the TC4. It willl be plenty fast for someone whos been drving x-mods. If you wanna go off-road i reccomend either the Associated B4 or T4. There basically the same chassi, with some modifications.

miniz33 10-21-2006 03:56 PM

RE: In a pinch-please help

Thank you,But bolth of those trucks have that buggy look to them that I don't like.
And the fastest xmod I've driven does 20, so the tc4 is that much faster?

RE: In a pinch-please help

I think the stampede will due? It's not too big and it's probally quick! it also has a lip in the bed so i can mount the camera!

RE: In a pinch-please help
