Problems with my Car.
 

Hey guys, first post and i don't know if this is the correct part to send this but i am having problems with my HPI Nitro RS4 RTR3 evo. Well i've used it quite a few times and i found out that i had wore away one of the gears. My dad replaced these gears for me. The problem is, the car will not start anymore. Petrol pours out the exhaust without any sign of it trying to start. We had it starting a once but it cuts out. We have tried changing the carb settings etc to factory settings yet still no luck. Do you need a special tool to set the carb? Has anyone had the same experience? Any help or questions will be helpful. Thank you.

Did you check to see if the glow plug is good and the glow plug igniter is working?

There has never been a time I could not get any of my many nitro engines to start unless something like the glow plug igniter not being charged. There has been a few times it took a little more but never where I could not get them to start. I use after run oil in all my engines for over 6 years even in my back up engines that I am storing. I have had vehicles sitting for over a year and not have a problem. If it was running and you set it up then it should run now unless you did not store it properly. If you have compression, is getting fuel and the glow plug is good as well as the igniter then it should start. Did you take the plug out and put it in the igniter and check it? I would try a new plug any how.

We have tried new glow plugs aswell as recharging the igniter. My dad reckons he knocked something when he replaced the gear. God knows what.

sounds flooded to me.

Is the fuel pooring out of the exhuast similar in viscousity to what goes in the tank or is it thicker and darker in color? If it is thicker and darker, you may want to take the stinger or manifold off and try and get the unburnt fuel out of there.

Have you tried taking out the glow plug and tipping the car upside down? - If so, what came out of the plug hole - nothing? Fuel?

I had the same problem with my evader a few years back but darn it I can't remember how I fixed it.

If you have a hobby shop near by take it in and let them solve the problem... It will probably be your best bet.
