RE: Gas

I personally have ran fuel that was over a year old. As long as the container has been tightly sealed, I would say years.
In all honesty.. a person has no idea how long it originally sat on the shelf or in a warehouse before ever getting to the store.

Ahh 8 years is a lot, you can try it but it might not work. I have personally used fuel that was about 5 years old and after swirling it around it was fine. The fuel's ingredients may have seperated so you might have to swirl the fuel to get the ingredients back together. One thing to check for is see if the color of the fuel looks the same as it did the day he got it. If it has changed color's or has gotten a misty look to it then I would not use it. As fuel it's self is not all that expensive and is better to just use new fuel then mess up a good engine.

Also if the fuel was not keeped in a dry place where sun could get to the fuel then I would just throw it away, it's not worth the time as the fuel loves to attract moisture and the sun also likes to evaporate the the alcohol.

First it is fuel and has no gas in it. If stored properly it should be ok for at least a couple of years but has to be stored properly. If not stored properly it can go bad in weeks or even days.

depending on what kind and how much fuel is in it. i wouldnt leave a 1/4 gallon sitting around to long, its also best to store fuel out of sun light in a cooler area. from my own experience I think the stuff looses its zaz after 1 to 1 1/2 yrs. thats just resealed. I just try to use it up, I dont like running old fuel. some people dont shake there fuel either, so thats also a factor.

A dry cool place and in the shade would be the ideal place. If it was in the shed and went through several winters then I wouldnt trust it. If it was in the house where nothing can really get at it then I might but the shed is not an ideal place for having fuel sit for 8 years. But you can give it a try though
