I recently replaced the rear pivot block on my Losi xxxnt-sport rtr and as part of the process removed the idle adj. screw in my carb (so I could move the rear diff. around) Now I put it all back together and it wont start. I reset my HI and LOW needle settings, checked glow plug, changed the fuel, made sure the car is warm etc... It doesn't even sound like it's close to starting.

Also my owners manuel has no detail on the carb. Is there just two pieces to the idle needle adj. (screw and spring)?

And how do you set it (idle adj.) When I pull the air filter I can see a silver piston like thing and an oval hole in it. where should the hole be when setting the needle. NOTE: if I screw my adj. needle in to far the silver thing will not move....that's why I'm thinking I'm missing a piece.

These are probably stupid questions but I have tried everything. Pleaes help.

With the radio turned on....look into the barrell in your carb. It should be about 1 mm opened (idle adjustment screw sets this)

OK got it. 1mm open. but on the adjustment screw is there just 2 pieces screw and spring? I'm thinking I lost a ball berring or something. If I screw the screw all the way in it stops the silver thing from turning at all?????

If you screw the idle screw all the way in, your carb should be wide open. Just loosen it until you have about a 1mm opening, and it should be good for a starting point.

I would recommend resetting all your needles to the break-in setting until you get the engine running again, then leaning it out. At least there won't be any engine damage. :)

if you put all back the right way then it should run.you put new gaskits on te parts?if so then make sure is tight.every were.then look at the new plug make sure it works.befor puting it in.ten set the airat 2 turns out.go with a flat blad sc.driver all the way in easy and back it out 2 full turns.make shur thereis no old gas in the motor.befor puting in a plug pull it or turn the motor ove 3 times to be sure its free.idle is go in and back it out tellit runs good.back it out allteway then start it were there is not to much gas getting toit.at one time.try that let me know

Ok Tyler,
but my knowledge of these carbs. is nil
If I screw in the idle adj. screw it does not move the cyliner inside the carb at all. Infact if I keep screwing it stops against the cylinder and blocks it from turning....Why?!!!!

Try this

remove the air filter
back off the idle adjustment screw
close the carburetor
slowly turn in the idle adjustment screw until the carburetor starts to open
when it's open about 1 mm, stop

If it tightens against the barrel and the barrel doesn't rotate open at all, try moving the barrel (wiggle it in and out a little so the idle adjustment screw locates the groove the the carb barrel

Yo guys, Not to sound stupid but the screw on top with the spring sets the carb throw the low end needle (idle adjustment screw is in the center of the carb linkage arm on the side of the carb. Follow thsteps for seting the barrel to 1 mm open then.........

Close the idle adjust screw, hook up a piece of fuel line to the nipple blow through the fuel line then back the idle screw off till you here a small hiss in the carb ( from you blowing) should be about 3/4 turn. but do it the hiss method.

The screw at the top is called the barrel stop screw (a scre and a spring) dont tighten it down to tight it will lock your barrel. The correct procedure is to tightne it down so you get full throttle stop and positive w.o.t. then set the idle adust on the side. If the barrel screw is out of adjustment so will be your idle screw

The low end needle (or adjustment screw) is not the same as the idle adjustment screw.

The idle adjustment screw and the barrel stop screw are one in the same.

ok mandont turnit all the way in.that will make it toooo fast and flud the carb were it will not start.back it out almost all the way then turn the car on and start the car. and move the trim of the idle were the car will still run.then the idle screw in tell the car will run good.then move the trim back were the car wil still run you may need to move the armon your servo so yur brake will not stop the motr.that should work man let me know iwill be here ok.tylern
