Newbie Help

Hi all,

I would like to buy my first ever Nitro off-road car but have no idea on were to start. I was wondering if some of you experts could point me in the right direction on what to do.
Basically i need some help on finding the right car for me.

Thanks

Ryan

Ok we need you to be more specific? Do you like buggy's, or MONSTER TRUCKS?
Whats your price range?

Too funny, made my day.

IMO, Traxxas are the absolute best rc's for a nitro newbie.

Just keep in mind that whatever nitro vehicle you choose there is a very steep learning curve - more so if this is your first hobby grade rc.

oh man what a lie. i'd recimend owning atleast one other non traxxas rc and learn ALL about it before buying a traxxas

That is a good mini... If you are looking for a mini you could also look at the Team VTX 1/16 Truggy (mst1), Trinity Next, and a few of the mini nitro trucks xray makes. They are all great trucks.

The [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNYV5&P=ML]Trinity NEXT[/link] was my first nitro truck and I am very glad I got it.

Funny coming from somebody reccomending a Warhead, the truck with a thread of over 8000 mostly bad replys.

Having been in this hobby since the Mid 60's I've owned most brands of RC's. I currently own Traxxas, HPI, AE, Kyosho and Losi just to name the land vehicles. I have also had more than one friend buy Traxxas vehicles, follow the instructions and have absolutely zero problems.
And as far as lying, Why would I???
Better yet, why would you call someone you don't know a lier?

why whould you say somthing bad about the warhead if you dont even own it! i dont care how many "threads" there are. that just means there are over 8000 people who dont kwon how to properly take care of thier rcs

How do you know that I don't or haven't owned one?
And where did I say anything bad about it?

OK back to giving this guy advice.
I say buy yourself a Savage truck. Their tough, fast, and pretty easy to work on. My first truck was a Savage 25 and it was awesome, very easy to tune and a blast to drive.
There is nothing wrong with traxxas trucks, every truck has its good and it's bad points.

RE: Newbie Help

Go to a local track or LHS and see what you like. There are several types of rc's that are out there, like MT's St's truggy's buggy's and then you got what scale do you want. Traxxas is always a good company to go with (I dont know where that irockdude got that traxxas is a bad company) they have several different MT's like the T-Maxx, the Revo,E-maxx, S-Maxx the stampede and then they have more yet with the ST's and such. Team Losi and AE are good for 2wd St's and HPI has a good 4wd St.

Go to your LHS and see what they have for spare parts for which rc company's. If they carry a lot of spare parts for a traxxas revo but none fore a warhead then getting a warhead wouldnt be really smart idea now would it. But that goes for any company then out of those that your LHS carries the most spare parts for then decide from those rc's. Either one you get I'm sure you will loveonce you get the tuning side of things down.
