Pinch the fuel line that goes from the fuel tank into the carburetor....

Well you have options

!) Pinch the fuel line
2) Put your finger on the exhaust stinger
3) put your finger on the air intake
4) stick your shoe's sole on the flywheel thru the bottom of the car
5) Let it run out of fuel :)

i read a few places pinching the fuel line is best.
covering the air flow is fastest i think.
it said somewhere that covering exhaust creates wierd pressue in the cylinder

I would suggest that if you are done for the day then pinch the fuel line but if you are just cutting it off to make a slight adjustment then convering the exhaust is fine.

I covered my exhaust stinger on my Street force and talk about pressure. it blew air out the fuel tank, actaully lifting the tanks lid off. you guys no how tight those lids are.

or you can use your shoe to cover the pipe, or your fingure to stop the flywheel. It hurts alittle the first time thought. ;)

Cutting an engine

Shutting off air to the engine is the quickest and easiest way to kill a motor overall.

The old finger over the stinger works in some cases but there are cases where it does not work.
If you ever experience a runaway on the track or out in the yard, have fun burning your finger off trying to plug the stinger on a car that is full throttle. Even if you can hold your finger on the stinger and tolerate the pain, it usually wont kill a runaway.

Getting the bottom of your shoe on the flywheel is another toughy when all wheels are spining and full throttle. You might as well throw the car at the ground and stomp on it.

If you dont have an air filter like the one below lets just hope the marshall on the track gets creative and kills the runaway as quickly as possible.

anytime I see a runaway this air filter is the first thing I look for, thumb over the filter and the engine is cut...quick and fast.

A finger over the exhaust should be a last resort or only in the case of a run away motor. The fuel will back-up in the cylinder and flood the motor. The next time you try to start it you may spin the flywheel off due to fuel sitting on top of the piston. :)

I would just rip the air filiter off and plug the carb barrel, zip tie would be no issue, i would be very cranked up if i had a engien runnin wide open.

How about pinching the fuel line?

IF your gonna be starting soon, wouldnt it keep the motor nice n clean?

If your gonna shelf it thats great too, just add after run oil and your good to go!!

Tree's work well indeed but you haven't seen anything stop a car like the pool in the back yard.....
