Turbos may be a little far fetched for a 1/10 scale with all the extra stuff like a waste gate etc. What if you have access to cnc milling, what about supercharging since its belt driven? watch think?

You don't have to go with a belt set-up for supercharging. In theory, you could go gear drive off the spur gear.

The biggest problem with forced air induction would be temperature control. You would need a PCRC fuel management system (no longer in production) to try and keep the air / fuel mix appropriate. I don't even know if their parameters would compensate sufficiently for it.

One other thing to consider is at what compression premature ignition will take place (it's a concern when increasing turbo force on regular diesel engines).

so it would be a big pain in my toosh otherwise. Darn :P

i saw on maxx traxx scale v8's a 4 bangers......they run man

one modle of the v8's are blown

heres one of the sites of the manufactorers(did i spell that right?)

Yes i knew it could be done, there someone out there crazy enough (and has enough money) to do this.
THanks man

wouldn't it be to expensive, and the speed wouldn't even be worth it... If you reallywant speed for that ammount of money, do what RC Car ACtion did with the HPI Super nitro ... thats probably the best way to get a truely kickbutt fast car.

hey

well said, most people want the biggest bang for the buck, keeping the highest durability possible...

Don't forget that forced induction doesn't work on a two stroke. When you open up the ports the excess pressure would blow everything out the exhaust.

what did rc car action do to the super nitro?

Forced air induction does work on 2 strokes. There have been several 2 stroke turbo diesels available in tractor trailers. Quite a few turbo kits exist for 2 stroke super bikes.

Check out these links.

Here's one example of a tubro charged turbo

Here's a manufacturer that designs turbos for both 4 and 2 stroke engines.

How 'bout a supercharger for .21 engines?

http://www.rbinnovations.com

Haven't done much research on them, however, if I can getthe information that I need, I might install one on my .70.

sounds like a good ideal but durabiltay would be non thing plus it would be hard to regulate fuel flow as stated above and you would have to cool engine better as supercharging increase the temp of your motor ..

you could create a intercooler but the extra weight would not make it worth wild

just my opinion ive played with nos, turbos and superchargers on cars and i just dont see a little nitro motor standing up to the abuse ..

I was leaning the same way, Rob. The increase in temps in a ringed engine are really more than I want to deal with. I think a cool-can would help more, but, wouldn't last long unless dry ice were used and that can be very hazardous!

This is some of the coolest R/C info I have seen in a long time, good work fellas! I like the V8 but not the 5,000.00 price tag!
